But can be read as a stand alone this is told from Lexi JQ s points of view characters lost a grandmother figure pen pal who had memory issues when alive a best friend within the last year few years Review I enjoyed getting to see Hogwash Holler I had about as much difficulty remembering the second part of the name as Lexi did XD and learn a bit about the treasure hunt rumor around town Lexi was so sweet and hopeful about Nan s shop despite the unfortunate issue that caused Lexi to pick up and leave the original dream she had behind I liked that JQ fell hard for Lexi even though he did just about everything he could to avoid her I loved his dog too and how she managed to rope him into time with Lexi during that timeframe I can t wait to find out about the treasure hunt and what s really to come when it s complete This was a light.

Reader s Notes this is part of a series sweet quick romcom and I can t wait for stories in town Summary Lexi wanted to become a country singer but when someone close to her takes one of her songs to give to her rival Lexi just needs to get away from the situation Which leads her to Hogwash Holler Her pen pal used to live in town and would tell her so much about it but recently Lexi discovered that her pen pal left her a soda fountain when she passed Though when Lexi arrives in Hogwash Holler she finds out that there were a few very important details that she missed The biggest being that her grumpy neighbor is a co owner to the soda fountain JQ is very loyal to his friends and family and isn t about to let Nan s legacy be left in the dust When a big city girl comes into town he assumes she s going to take what she can from what Nan set aside for her and split But the longer Lexi stays in town she decides wants to leave Nashville. but she doesn t really have anywhere to go so when she randomly receives a letter telling her that her friend Nam had passed but left her a small inheritance she decides to move to Hogswash Holler. and felt very guilty about the passing his friend her son Cory whom he became friends with while in the military together and Cory died from a heart Hogwash has had its shares of ups and down. and when you throw in a hidden treasure a giant crystal mug and a mysterious saboteur you have yourself a very small town fun meet rude Now I really can t wait to read Honey and Maddox s story I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own Ellie Hall This was such a fun read I love a good meet cute but this meet RUDE Yeah it was pretty great too Let s just say these two didn t quite hit it off This certainly made things awkward when the discover they have co inherited a rundown soda fountain and need to work together to fix it up Despite being a shorter book there is a lot going on in this story the romance of course which was super sweet and enjoyable but also a bit of mistaken identity a treasure hunt a mystery and some small town meddling drama Yes definitely a lot to love about this one I enjoyed every part of the story and thought the author did a great job of making it all work together Beyond that though I found it also made me super excited to find out what was going to happen next in the series truly the perfect introduction and I cannot wait for While this is the first book in THIS series there were some Easter eggs from the Ellie Hall s previous books throughout the story as well You can definitely enjoy without having read any of these but I loved that she pointed out the connections in the end The Grump and the Girl Next Door is a closed door romance with kisses only and no language ARC received for consideration All opinions are my own Ellie Hall Another DNF this one at 36% Why I found the FMC was super annoying there were way too many Taylor Swift references not subtle nods but hit you over the head refs that even I a non Swiftie could see was a TS ref and I just couldn t bear it Ellie Hall I was so excited to hear Ellie was taking us on another adventure with her new series This time we are in search of long lost treasure in the small town of Hogwash Holler But to make things interesting we ve got a case of mistaken identity a matchmaking Corgi secrets than any town should have and a Sunshine girl trying to get an Ex Seal Grump to help her find answers There s ever so much to love in the pages of this story but I m not going to spoil it for you Just go get your own copy and be ready to go on adventure that will have you both laughing and swooning with each turn of the page I m positive you will have as much fun as I did and be just as antsy for the next book to see what s going to happen next PS for those who have read Ellie s other books there are lots of fun Easter eggs in this story I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author I am not required by anyone to write a positive review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own Ellie Hall

mistaken identity mixed in Looking back my life has been one long first pancake of the batch It doesn t quite flip off the pan More like flops and turns out a little mushy messy and is mostly a dud If you ve read any of Ellie s other series there are fun easter eggs sprinkled throughout too Ellie Hall The perfect mix of grumpy x sunshine This was a quick fun read that had all the right components enemies to lovers small town romance even a mystery to solve The setting of a small southern town was perfect It left me wanting a little bit but overall cute clean Excited to see what happens next Ellie Hall This was terrible All over the place like what is even happening And then just one day they re making out Nope Hard to follow just not great Ellie Hall I wanted to like it I really wanted to like this book I love that it was a closed door romance and there were no risqu scenes However I felt like it was written by a high schooler and it was just hard to follow One minute it seems as if the character is talking to the reader then to the other characters and then just narrating It also jumps around a bit Ellie Hall
