Generally it s a positive feelings especially for the main character and her slow burn finally main love interest now It takes reading The Troublemakers from book 1 to understand the dynamic and the somewhat crass actions of the butchs actions and words in the book It s makes me a bit sad that Traf s story has now concluded I would have wanted to read and until the end of time tbh 1942594151 I really liked this book It was both funny and heartwarming I really think this book made me cry as often as it made me laugh The contrasts between the types of situations that Traf found herself in were unexpectedly sharp The book goes from cute and sweet to exciting and scary in the blink of an eye I enjoyed the unexpectedness of it It kept me on my toes.

would happen next The characters were an eclectic bunch They were funny reprehensible and heartwarming While I might not have agreed with some of their actions romance set on the island of Treceira in 1969 about two woman who work for the airforce falling in love Traf is 22 a native to the island and is a captain in the airforce Her job is as a driver and although she enjoys that element she doesn t enjoy being constricted by the rules She has to hide her sexuality from everyone apart from her close friends the troublemakers The troublemakers are a group of women made up of the butch s of the island who group together as found family Traf loves a femme but after being betrayed by her last two girlfriends in favour of marrying men she s closed herself off Betty is an American captain stationed on the island She s a nurse 27 and not sure what she s wants out of life She s had a few bad experiences with men and so avoids them Traf is a friendly acquaintance but she would like to know her better The pair go through a traumatic event together and start spending time together Traf has always had feelings for Betty but fears that showing her hand would get her thrown out of the military so she treads carefully It took me a while to get into this one but once I did I was invested in where the story was headed It took me even longer to like Traf the story is told mostly from her point of view apart from a small section I m not going to lie I think it took until around 50% to start to see what others saw in her Once I did however I was routing for her to get a happy ending There s a lot going on in this book for both characters from family injuries deaths and turmoil Traf s circle of friends are colourful including her best friend Michaela who is also in the airforce They are crass and there is a lot of misogyny at play which I m not sure but may be in line with the times The butch women have a competition to see who can score the most panties off femmes on or visiting the island which was a bit degrading The romance once it started between Traf and Betty was lovely passionate and swoony They clearly love and support each other and it was a delight to witness Betty brings out the best in Traf and in turn Traf gives Betty something she didn t know she was missing love and respect They have beautiful romantic dates and the author did a great job of progressing their relationship from friends to lovers It build gently and felt very genuine This book is part of a series and I think if if of realised that I wouldn t have read the other two books they were finally honest with each other about their feelings Their relationship development was delightful and I sincerely supported them throughout. While reading this book I found myself slightly confused about its direction I thought that the competition to acquire the most panties was amusing And I thoroughly enjoyed Traf s friends The Troublemakers truly live up to their name Overall the book was very good and I enjoyed it. This is the third book in the series but it can be read as a standalone I have not read the first two books but I will read them in the future if this book is any indication of their quality The book is well written and entertaining throughout I recommend it.
