Frontier levelingAlternate universe magic fantasy races harem adult situationsDavid meets Yeska a cat girl blood mage and they soon set off on a quest I m enjoying the series but this time around some details were lost First was their trip to Gladdenfield outpost Normally they take the jeep and when Leigh was commuting she rode her horse Colonel to the farm A jeep on country roads can easily do 40 50 mph and around half hour travel time you re looking at 15 20 miles travel Walking can be done but 2 3 hours covers 5 10 miles at a steady walk I get saving jeep fuel but if the outpost is that far away and they don t set out until late afternoon deciding to walk doesn t make sense unless the the outpost is suddenly closer than before Before entering the dungeon the leave the tents and other gear set up not wanting to carry everything underground Yet when they exit the gear is on their beast Later David extols on how serious it is to pay attention during night watch because he cares about everyone s safety Yet he has sex with Diane on one of those watches when he most assuredly is Not keeping watch And sex even if you re trying to keep quiet is still noisy and that might attract critters active at night A LOT of damage can happen when you re surprised. Frontier Summoner 6o04h There are several other bits I have issues with but while I m enjoying the series there were some details others details I had issues with Yeska while a member of the party is not part of the household No discussion about her share of the reward at all And that seemed rather rude at best and to not even count out their earnings Yes the cat girl blood mage is their guest but it s her share and she has a right to her share even if it s to say Keep part of it or all of it as my share toward my upkeep Not even discussed Rather it s like David and his women know Yeska is so horny and wants in on the action so badly that she doesn t care about the money Hmm That could be predatory if the women weren t caring protective of David and open to her joining their ranks Still A troubling lapse Good beta readers also look for continuity errors Waiting on book 7 Jack Bryce Love itCan t wait to read the next book I ve started my own library at home and it is quickly filling with great books Yay Jack Bryce Jack Bryce has a good thing going with this series and with book 7 already out I will continue As for The first 5 books I have rated them highly However this book was bad and the only reason it was bad was Yeska She is terribly written first she shows up the day after his eleven wedding I found that in bad taste so she was immediately my least favorite just from her intro Second she is described as feisty which is needed in his harem However This could not be farther from the truth please change that in the bio or improve upon her character to match that As she was a go with the flow and observe type Yeska and David fall in love at first sight The same as his other three But we are waiting on the approval from Diane before they can hookup This is the same exact scenario as Celeste except she has her elven customs along with getting approval from Diane This is a missed opportunity They even have the same scenes First Diane isn t fond of them second the bond over a shared activity fishing in the case of Yeska while singing for Celeste then a life or death adventure followed by watching them have sex and then later joining in but not going all the way This was great for Celeste loved it but takes a lot away from Yeska as I read and thought been there done that There is a lot of tropes left for the harem enemies to lovers friends to lovers with 4 months of being on the homestead this would have been easy tsundere personality teacher pupil maybe deer kin summon or even just a MILF But Yeska ended up being the same as Celeste just a little worseLastly what takes away from the story is that Yeska being a blood mage is crucial to the plot of the series but not at all this book We don t get any new insights to his bloodline Obviously that comes next but first impressions are important and I m already ready for the next womenOther notes no cliffhanger or setup for next book at end which is different than the other 5 Not a bad thing just something I noticedWhat I liked he finally decided his ranching skill was needed leveled The new summon has a lot of great potential either as a best friend extra dude on the homestead could be nice or a new harem member no dwarf yet so could go that route and the dungeon was involved Jack Bryce
