I can only recommend it 0645794848 Of Sand Silk was filled with tension both romantic political in the absolute best way The political drama coupled with delicious romance was really well done I d highly recommend for you to check out the Red Wood series as Of Sand Silk is a spin off 0645794848 Thanks so much to Claire Butler for sending me an e arc of this book in exchange for an honest review As always all thoughts and opinions written in this review are my own I was hooked by the dedication A friend of mine knew I was looking for bisexual fantasy stories after reading and loving the memory of souls and she saw a post by the author and immediately forwarded it to me and I immediately signed up for the authors newsletter got the e arc For those curious For all the boys who grew up dreaming of the prince instead of the princess And for anyone who dreamed of having both This one is for you I think you can see why I was hooked I will just say that I have not read the others other series which chronologically happens before this one You can read this book without having read the first as I have but the ending of the first series is talked about in this book and Henri spends quite some time in this book processing all the stuff that went down in the first series I m now super hyped to go back and see what exactly happens and maybe understand Henri s character a bit I have a suspicion that I might rate this a bit higher after going back and reading that series then re reading this book This was such an interesting novel and a lot politically centered than I initially thought it would be A lot of time in this book is spent figuring out all the court politics and following the main characters.
Trying not to reveal their own while trying to gain leverage and power in various ways I personally think we need political fantasy books with a big romance component on the market Which brings me to the romance I really loved seeing Henri figure out his feelings and his bisexuality I would personally have liked to see him have a bit time really sitting with the realization and what it means for him I also really liked reading how both the other love interests Malik Tahlia were both super comfortable with their own sexualities and with Henri and giving him space to figure it out and not just assuming or demanding either way I just had a really good time with this and honestly I never wanted to put this book down Also I NEED BOOK 2 NOW that ending my god I m glad I have the other series to hold me over.

ARC ReviewRecommend reading Claire s Redwood Series first To Reclaim a Kingdom To Reforge a Destiny the main character comes from that duology. I really enjoyed this story and the journey Henri went on through the book There are some magical elements but not outright fantasy I like that combination it makes it easy to digest and leaves room for the storyline I have been left dying for another and loved that the story elements didn t feel repeated or copied from anything else I d read lately. THIS BOOK You guys I LOVED this book Beginning middle end I was HOOKED Everything about it was so intriguing from the world world building political intrigue characters character development the different dynamics I adored it ALL Also it had me a feral mess when it came to the romantic development I was constantly screaming into my pillow while kicking my feet in the air I was letting out feral pterodactyl screeches constantly. Let s start with Henri I loved his character his growth when we first saw him in the Redwood Duology however my love for him has tremendously grown after reading this book The way I feel like a proud mama bear after seeing this first part of his story his new journey his character is so easy to adore root for To want to protect at ALL costs Henri is such a passionate character who is haunted by moments of his past while discovering this new world he has be thrust into However I can honestly say Henri is barely given a moment to BREATHE because he is in this state of turmoil due to the constant threats dangers surrounding him as well as the new emotions he is feeling He is such a caring just fierce protector who is realizing those traits of his may just lead to his downfall. MALIK the way this man had my knees legs constantly trembling His character in the beginning had me constantly guessing what his intentions were who he was on the inside behind the masks he showed that were free of any emotions But when I tell you I fell hard fast I mean it Malik has got his own dark past memories that haunt plague him secrets he is willing to keep hidden at all costs However this man is also passionate to the point that you begin feeling feverish He is wholly loyal wholly dangerous to those he determines a threat But his heart is golden underneath all the haunted shadows that surround it I truly adore him am rooting for him to the very end. Our Silk Rose Tahlia we meet her later on in the book but we quickly become enraptured by her her story She is a character who has her own secrets motivations but also a past that is mixed with its own darkness her decisions decisions made FOR her She is such an intriguing FMC who constantly keeps you guessing Who she is underneath the persona of the infamous courtesan the Silk Rose. I enjoyed meeting Henri again and witnessing Henri and Malik s relationship is both heartwarming and heart wrenching as they navigate the treacherous waters of politics and power while grappling with their growing attraction to each other The addition of the stunning courtesan the Silk Rose adds another layer to the story as her own secrets and motivations are gradually revealed With the backdrop of a rich Middle Eastern inspired world this was just a fantastic read and I loved how it was filled with intrigue romance and a sprinkle of elemental magic What I don t love is having to wait for the next book Because I need it now 0645794848 I have always enjoyed a politically charged plot and when it dances playfully next to romance it is a home run for me The setting and characters are beautifully written and I absolutely loved the Middle Eastern Arabian setting It felt otherworldly and I couldn t wait to pick it up daily I am mood reader and often have many books going at the same time. so it says something when I would reach for this book first The story was easy to read and to digest while the development between they characters felt natural I find this helps with connecting with the story itself This has some of the best supporting characters and I hope to dive deeper into their separate stories in the second book The T.
