A man and his land
I could forgive the bad action movie stint this had going on but the main couple adding a third by the end just because on of them felt conflicted pissed me off so much 404 I was happy to come back to the is world of Matthew R Corr s but imagine my surprise when I find out that happy couple Caleb and Landon aren t happy AHHHHHHHH Okay so I was hooked from the beginning because I needed to know what had happened since the first book I really enjoyed the way that Corr wrote in waves some present a bit of past The story unfurled at just the right pace. Kindle Land On himiway It was a great plot the second half felt like it was a faster pace There was a lot going on These poor characters really go through it in this book It was a great companion to Land on Me content warning a lot of violence 404 I received a copy of this book free to review3 This book picks up directly after the events of Land On Me and if we re being honest I was a little fuzzy on the details of that book since it s been a while since I read it But after sinking my teeth into the first few chapters it caught me up to speed I mentioned in my review for the first book that this felt like One Tree Hill or any similar CW teenage dramas and I would say that s also accurate for the sequel Every scene had such high stakes and there was so much intense drama the whole book If that s your thing you ll love this one My biggest complaint though is that the first half of the book felt a little disconnected from the second half almost like it could ve been a whole separate book Other than the pacing issues I d say if you liked the first book you ll like the sequel too 404 Land on Him is ultimately a new adult romance that follows the previous book Land on Me I didn t read the first book but could follow this one just fine However if you want to get the complete story of what exactly happened with Dan read the first book One of the things I liked best about this book was the likability of the POV character Landon He s struggling mentally with demons he hasn t fully dealt with yet and though he thinks a change of scenery will fix it his trauma comes with him I was glad to see this in the story as it s a very important lesson in life there is only one way to heal trauma and that s to heal it Running away does nothing A truly valuable message in the book The author s writing style for Landon makes him an irresistible MC one you can t help but love and pull for He s soft and sweet and his authentic self but he s also willing to fight for the things that matter most to him It s a good balance. Landon homes review The relationships are complex again reflecting real life Although Landon loves Caleb they said some things in the previous book that can t just be revoked at least not for Caleb The tension continues in this sequel and I think the author did a good job of creating believable hard feelings and distrust due to such an ugly argument I feel he nailed it. Landon high school maryland I couldn t help but love Isaac who is such a sweetheart and only wants to treat others kindly despite the fame that makes so many others too arrogant to see beyond themselves He s a hero in multiple ways in this book and he s what we all wish celebrities were like appreciative and grateful for his very prosperous career introspective instead of destructive dedicated to his fanbase and about developing his talent than reveling in his fame. Kindle Land On himiway Caleb was also likable but in a different way He s the most complex character in my opinion He can t just forgive wrongs done to him and he s overloaded with the stress of providing for his younger brother and the pain of his father walking out on him and leaving him in a situation no young person should ever have to deal with He feels stuck in life due to his situation money is tight and his job doesn t offer much opportunity in the way of greater income He may be the most relatable character in this book because of his hardships and his difficulty dealing with them while trying to be the level of adult he isn t yet and shouldn t have to be. Landon hills sectional I rated this book 4 stars for a couple of reasons Part of the main plot mentioned in the book s blurb only starts 53% of the way through which left me feeling like I was waiting and waiting for the book to really get moving even though it was already in motion 53% is a long time to wait for the major plot point promised in the blurb The other reason is that the genre is at its heart new adult romance but at 68% of the way through there s sudden violence action through to almost the end then it goes back to romance that doesn t suit the rest of the book because it s so intense all of a sudden To me the first 68% doesn t match the remaining 32% except for the romantic ending In my opinion the book would have benefitted from taming the violence and action down to suit the rest of the book so it wasn t as jarring and didn t seem like two books sewn together I m sure not everyone will feel that way but that was how it came across to me. Contemporary Land On hima This starts when Landon begins his freshman year of college in NYC During his Christmas break something happens between Landon and Caleb When Landon returns to school he meets Isaac Sweet gentle Isaac who is there for Landon Caleb surprises Landon in NYC and this starts an absolute roller coaster of events. Land On Him booker Land on Him was everything I wanted and 404 I loved Matthew Corr s first book Land On Me and was looking forward to this one Thanks to Matthew for supplying me with an ARC This sequel Land On Him had quite a different vibe It was a bit slow to get going but then took off at breakneck speed with some quite intense action sequences Landon and Caleb created a few obstacles in their relationship they managed to overcome them with the help of Isaac who was really a star in terms of helping them out. PDF Land On himiway I think this sequel was of an action novel than a romance which I found a bit less appealing Nevertheless I will continue to follow the author and I m sure I will read everything he writes 404 LAND ON HIM is a great sequel and Matthew Corr creates a gripping and exciting story with complex and well rounded characters After the way Land On Me ended I was unsure what could happen next with Landon Caleb and their overall stories both as individuals and together but Corr answers all the questions I could have had and And we have a new character Isaac who is a true MVP here I loved the continuation of Landon being such a newbie and oblivious to most things pop culture I thought the NYC setting was great and I thought I ve been there I know where they are a couple of times Landon s dad really came out swinging in a good way for his son in the opening and I like their relationship There really is something for everyone in LAND ON HIM 404 I cannot even begin to express how much this sequel to Matt s debut novel Land on Me destroyed me and put me back together not once but MULTIPLE TIMES Just when I thought Landon and Caleb couldn t have any adorable scenes or badass moments the sequel throws them into a wringer of intense happenings Placed in the bustling city of New York old and cute new faces cross over into a harrowing journey of finding identity emotional strength and healing I was really surprised to see how these characters dealt with their various amounts of trauma and appreciated the emphasis on having trust and love for the people around you Overall I loved reading Matt s sequel novel in addition to his other writing projects He incorporates amazing queer representation with heart racing action and horror sequences that really make for a great story I highly recommend checking this one out 404
