There was some bloodshed and torture so be careful if you have any type of trigger to those items and also there was some attempted sexual assaults against the girl But for advertising it was dark and scary that would be kind of false It was not dark and I wasn t scared in suspense yes but not scared I was worried for the girl but I knew that Lorenzo would come and save her Now for the things I didn t like There were some writing mistakes like she had duct tape on her mouth one moment and the very next moment she was screaming at somebody with no indication that somebody removed the tape from her face Then there was some other woman drama Except it really wasn t any drama She made one appearance threatened him and then he left and that was it She gave off a vibe that she was powerful but didn t show anything Why even write about her if she was just only going to get a paragraph or two in the book If she was all that she should have made her presence known sooner and we should have seen of her For a mob boss son.

This is an amazing book Had a few typos but I really enjoyed it Lorenzo is a mafia Don manipulated by his father Valentina is a maid housekeeper They ve known each other and been in love since little kids but believe the lies told about being blood related until the truth comes out and he defies his father for the women he loves His evil father has no heart and punishes him by taking her and forcing him into an arranged marriage I do wish that Lorenzo s character was stronger and killed his father sooner their love for each other was beautiful I feel like the ending was rushed but it was still a good read. Unspoken Secrets booklet I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Unspoken Secrets 3 stars It was an all right story I ve read better There were some things that bothered me about the whole thing and there were some good things about it I liked the general plot of the story The girl and her mother were servants of her father She believed she was the illegitimate child of her love interest Lorenzo father There was some twists Lorenzo was weak Yes he was a good man towards his woman and he generally cared for her but he couldn t even find or half the time and it seemed like he had no support from the men that worked for him or his father Yes he had a couple guys that he trusted but that was it If you are a mob boss son you should be wielding a lot power He didn t come across as menacing and I may not be using the correct word Yes there was a scene where she looked into his face and did not recognize who he was due to the fact he was so angry with his father and what he was doing to her And it scared her she said but other than that he was not a feared guy to pass off as a mob boss in my mind Another thing that pissed me off was the constant back and forth of the We can t do this because we re related Yes I understand that they were conflicted because at first they were told they were cousins and then they were told they re half siblings HELLO DID ANYBODY EVER HEAR OF A DNA TEST These two are just stupid with that part Just get a test done and that would have solved everything I think my eyes got stuck rolling in my head with this issue Ugh I will give the second book a try but not for a while My brain needs to decompress after reading that Hopefully it s better Unspoken Secrets I love mafia romances I love the action mystery violence and the spice This book s opening was action packed and then there was a little action in the end However this story moved very slowly Lorenzo and Valentina have grown up together and told they were related so they couldn t be together So we get these moments where they glimpse at each other longingly This was supposed to be a slow burn angsty story I really didn t like it as a mafia story Lorenzo wasn t tough strong or dominant enough for me to consider him part of the mafia I would have liked this story if they left out the mafia aspect it just didn t fit with this story Unspoken Secrets This is by far my favorite book by Kya Lane I devoured it in one sitting I couldn t put it down at all Valentina and Lorenzo have been in love their whole lives They are supposed to stay away from each other because of a big secret Once that is dealt with and they decide they want to be together there was definitely room for an epilogue to show you where they finally ended up It had some spicy moments I really wanted to love this book but it was just okay for me Unspoken Secrets
