BROTHER OF DRAGONS By David Miller
Brother of Dragons By David MillerReview By Brett SalterOpening Lines Why is life so hard Can t we all just get along and have an easy existence Favorite Lines The Romans sacrificed Christians by the thousands and yet the faith only grew stronger They did not almost wipe out Christianity they galvanized it. The Review Brother of Dragons is a standalone book by indie author David Miller that takes a deep dive into the story of Job from The Bible and equates the lessons learned there to modern Christians battle with the struggles of life I want to start by saying that David Miller has a very extensive knowledge of The Bible and his talents are on full display here I am a Christian and am familiar with The Bible but for me to try and expand on any of David s exceptional examples and analysis here would be folly David does such a remarkable job of incorporating the verse to bolster his text that it is almost seamless in execution For example his inclusion of Many are called but few are chosen into his section on why we struggle with keeping our Christian walk was astounding And his exploration overall about the loss of family and friends really tugs at the heartstrings but he keeps it in a very concise perspective rarely straying from the major points he s making in this dissertation. I found the paragraphs starting on page 93 to be extremely interesting The information there certainly hit home for me since I have often found myself in situations like the matters discussed there I really like that David brought up Jesus s own struggle with loss especially when he prays to the Lord that he doesn t understand why his path is chosen Allow this cup to pass from me if it is Thy will is a great segment that shows Jesus then only perfect human even shaking momentarily from his path The point of this work is to tell us that everyone will shake from the path but here are the reasons why you should course correct and continue on Fantastic One Last Thing I like to add this one last thing section as an insight into how weird I am when I read books When I read books especially ones chock full of quotes I ALWAYS look for new quotes to add to my mental collection This beautiful narration did not let me down I added the following to my group and even moved it up fairly high on my list There is no fear in love but perfect love casteth out fear because fear has torment John 4 18 That s so beautiful and I totally forgot about this verse entirely until seeing it in Brother of Dragons again Thank you David Final verdict 4. 7 out of 5 BROTHER OF DRAGONS Inspiring Full of Hope Brother of Dragons is unmistakenly inspiring The way the author presented his perspective along with Scripture to back up everything was awesome This book wasn t only inspiring but true hope for out here believers and unbelievers alike all who may be going through tests trials pain and suffering It gives people a kind of guide as of what to do and why things happen when hardships come I loved reading this book of hope strength and love Great eye opening read BROTHER OF DRAGONS In Brother of Dragons David Miller sets the goal of pursuing answers from the Bible that will keep him and his friends and family focused on trusting in our Creator during times of hopelessness He strives to bring us to the realization that acceptance of God s teachings is important than understanding why bad things happen to us I think he has achieved his goal with this book Miller studied the Book of Job to be able to explain why Christians suffer and go through hard times despite seeking God s will for themselves He is humble in his words reminding readers that it is not his words but God s words are most important And he encourages readers to do their own studies I appreciated the way David Miller made comparisons between the Bible verses and medical terms and his military training This presentation of his findings of his research in everyday events makes them relatable to our everyday lives Pat Spencer author of Golden Boxty in the Frypan and A Baker s Dozen For Writers 13 Tips for Great Storytelling BROTHER OF DRAGONS David Miller s book Brother of Dragons is an in depth look at why we suffer as Christians even when we follow Christ and our hearts are to obey Him He uses Job s story to illustrate his point It is very encouraging to know that my intense suffering at times doesn t necessarily correlate with disobedience Job was an honorable man before God and still lost so much I thought the author went into detail and accuracy with supporting Scriptures God is in control and good was David s encouraging message My only criticism is that the theme of God s sovereignty amidst a Christian s suffering is the same point driven home throughout the whole book and I think it didn t need to be repeated throughout I wish the author talked a little about the joy of the Lord and how Job s later years were better than his former years to balance things out I find absolute joy in serving the Lord Every day isn t an uphill battle for me But overall I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend to the Christians suffering and have many questions why BROTHER OF DRAGONS Mr Miller s take on why Christian s experience pain and loss is a very helpful perspective grounded in Bible verses for backing and helpful insights for clarity This is truly an inspirational take that will help those who are undergoing present trials to keep their faith The book is exceptionally well written with an impeccable writing style I would surely recommend this book BROTHER OF DRAGONS
