Walter Hobbes works as a supervisor at the slaughter factory and is under his father forced to carry out orders from above It doesn t matter how hard the workers labor it is never enough This was never Walter s plan for his future when he graduated college with a business degree Reading a newspaper article he learns about free land in Oklahoma and decides this is what he wants to do but he needs a wife to complete his plans It will be his father who advises him to seek out The Garden Belles to find a bride The story will have Lily meeting the Garden Belles at the funeral of her parents where they invite her to meet them at five o clock for tea but what a surprise to also see Walter Hobbes there Then to learn that Ms Zinnia and Ms Dahlia have matched them together From what she witnessed at work could she really trust him For the first time she trusted Walter After witnessing his firm but fair handling of the landlord and the generous handout to the boy She could only assume he would be equally generous with the men looking for an honest day s work She knew without a doubt he was a good man The Garden Belles had been right They were a perfect match I really liked Lily and Walter together The man at work and the man offering her marriage and a future are different and she trusts him He shows her the man she needs and keeps his word Together they find a piece of land that both are happy with and make their run and claim Walter Thank you for agreeing to marry me and coming here to Oklahoma. her harsh and terrible boss They have both made judgements about the other and both are wrong they both have dreams but seeing them combine those dreams to create hope for a beautiful future is heartwarming This is a sweet book about second chances and new beginnings I read this on Kindle Unlimited Romance Historical Fiction Contemporary
