I just couldn t get behind Nina at all I know this is a common theme in thrillers at the moment and I guess makes the story workable but I just thought that she came across much too accepting of Gary s and especially his daughter s behaviour I think this just took away a little of the excitement of this read for me but I did otherwise love the storyline and I was completely hooked all the same I love this authors writing style and ability to make a fairly unbelievable storyline seem completely realistic I could feel that things were going to twist from the start and I was on edge waiting for the clues and reveals to fall into place but I still wasn t prepared for the ending I always find myself wondering what I would do in situations like this and whether I d behave differently I d hope I would but the way that we explore the characters thought process as they spiral.

Booksprout and Inkubator Books for my copy Iain Maitland The description of this book sounded so good I was really excited to get my hands on this I personally don t enjoy stories where every character is intolerable I couldn t connect with any of them and it didn t hold my interest There are a few twists and turns and if you don t mind unlikable characters definitely give this a try The mom in this book was so selfish and kept doing the dumbest things Any choice she could make she chose the worst way to go about her life Thank you NetGalley and Iain Maitland for this ARC and experience Iain Maitland The author made these scenes alive through details since the character was not overly burdened with background information Few story points did what was expected when making narrative conventions However.

And the author for allowing me to read and review this book Iain Maitland This was my first Iain Maitland novel and I have to say it was extremely well executed Taking the trope of the long lost son and seemingly turning it on it s head I will confess it is a solid 4. The new sonet 5 stars but I have rounded up merely because the half a star was mostly down to my personal choice I did not gel with the characters Now I will be the first to say that Maitland s writing is brilliant and so are his characters They are believable so it is not that it s just the characters themselves I felt no connection to I think this is actually a good thing Let me explain The characters are so believable and true to life that I can safely say these are the kinds of people I would not take to I really wished Nina would take control.

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. The new sony phone Possible spoilers alert The main character started off being one of those wishy washy posh women who waffle a lot and wouldn t say boo to a ghost Nothing much happened through out the book to make her a murderer but that s what happened Obviously some stuff happened but she didn t seem that affected by it nervous and scared than angry or vengeful Iain Maitland Frustrating but also a gripping read I d guessed an obvious thing but not the added twist that continued to be a theme for me. Book the new couple The characters were written very well especially Gary and his daughter they were vile people good at getting their own way I don t think Nina ever grew up from being a teenager given some of her ideas it was definitely a different perspective. The new sonic book Nina was na ve and spineless it annoyed me but it was still interesting to see when she would cotton on It would have been nice to see what attracted her to Gary in the first place. Sonny whitting new book I did enjoy this book This is the 5th book by this author I have read I loved the cover Got into it straight away Couldn t put it down I didn t like Gary or Chloe from the start I didn t trust Liam either Something about him Nina I wasn t sure if I liked her or not I dont know how i felt about her Twisty and gripping I did not see that coming The ending was not what I expected at all My jaw dropped to the floor 4 Iain Maitland Nina always wanted a child of her own Now she has one. Book the new cold war But how will the abusive Gary react if she rejects him And can she trust Alex Is he really the loving son he seems to be or does he have a sinister agenda of his own The New Son the gripping psychological thriller perfect for fans of Freida McFadden Daniel Hurst K L Slater The New SonHaving read The Soulmate by this author and loving it I was excited to dive into this one Once again the character presentation was great but sadly really does have me on edge sometimes Another great read and I can t wait for my next Iain Maitland Iain Maitland masterfully turns the trope of the long lost child into an original twisted horrifying thriller Even though the characters were extremely unlikeable I was still gripped from start to finish Some of the plot points were somewhat predictable but the sprinkled in twists kept it interesting The final twist along with the epilogue gave me chills This is the second book I have read by this author but definitely will not be the last Thank you events remained engaging The ending took an unforeseen twist framed with an epilogue which crystallized the character in that moment This was my first read by this author undoubtedly it will not be the last. The new sonoma diet cookbook Thank you to Inkubator Books Zo from ZooLoo s Book Tours particularly in situations with Gary but it s not who she is It just irked me Thus why I rounded up because I can hardly knock half a point off due to personal preference of characters Now I m sure I ve confused you all with that let me say the writing is great Maitland knows how to write a thriller and build it up The first part of the novel was a little slower than the rest but I think this works It almost leads you in makes you think this will be a family drama and not prepare you for the first twist at least not fully After the first part though it s one wild ride and I did start to like Nina a little I think the main thing that kept me hooked was the relationships how all the pieces began to click into the place and everything else. The new sons of anarchy This is one novel that draws you in slowly then grabs you by the collar and won t let go I finished this in one sitting because I had to know how it all ended and that epilogue was brilliant I will definitely be reading Maitland and would recommend to any thriller fan Iain Maitland
