From the bestselling author of Christmas in Snow Falls comes a heartwarming read that s perfect for fans of Jenny Hale Sheila Roberts Debbie Macomber and Jill Shalvis After years of chasing her dreams on Broadway struggling actress Amy Jenkins returns to her small hometown What starts as a simple favor turns into a chance for Amy to rediscover her passion for performing and find a new love in the most unexpected place As Amy reconnects with her past she meets Tim Smith the rugged and charming handyman who helps bring her theatrical vision to life Despite her initial dismissal Amy finds herself drawn to Tim and their easy rapport As Tim reveals his feelings for her and Amy considers a permanent position with the theater she must make a decision about her future Will she choose to chase her dreams or embrace the love and belonging she has found A heartwarming escape for readers looking for that sweet small town romance to get lost in Heading Home A Small Town Romance Love in Star Valley Very enjoyable story told from Amy s pov I think its a great reminder that small things we may be trying to avoid can have a huge impact and change lives for the good Very sweet story Heading Home A Small Town Romance Love in Star Valley I would like to first thank the author for sending me an advanced copy to read This story while having a nice premise had some flaws It is written in 3rd person which can be a difficult point of view to write It would have been better if it was written in 1st person and in Amy s point of view Throughout the story the character s are written with their last names attached It is extremely redundant There are minor grammar mistakes throughout the story The paragraphs are super big and it can be hard to read them They should either be condensed with less details or be broken up into smaller paragraphs that make it easier to read The characters and speech in the story are stiff and 2 dimensional It doesn t feel like you could pull the characters off the page and they could be a real person There is a phrase The conversation meanders that is mentioned a few times and becomes redundant The MC mentions that her hometown is showing her unexpected hospitality This is odd because she comes from a small town where everyone knows everyone so why is it unexpected to have hospitality from the people she grew up with There is a complete lack of conflict throughout the story There is nothing pushing the story further In the beginning and towards the end the MC was having conflicting thoughts on staying in her hometown or going back to New York but other than that there isn t anything else The MC and the love interest become engaged not too long after reconnecting and the time frame of this story is absolutely nowhere to be seen It would be nice to know how long it has been from point A beginning of the story to point B the end of the story It was also strange when one of them mentioned how they were so happy they found their way back to each other How can they find their way back to each other if they were never together in the first place All in all I think this could be a good story but it certainly needs some strong editing done to get it there Heading Home A Small Town Romance Love in Star Valley Such a gentle read I can see a lot of older ladies enjoying this If you like plays or theatre life this also has those vibes.
