This was a very lovely book Love friends to lovers trope and here the author did a great job accomplishing a well written story. One Weekend in Venice contemporary art Jasper and Cady s relationship was lovely and I love the fact they made a promise about getting married if both of them were single eight years in the future This was also a funny story thanks to the supportive characters I really enjoyed reading about Hudson and Danielle and I should add we need Hudson s book My only complaint was that I really wished some throwbacks of Jasper and Cady s friendship to feel it real. One Weekend in Venice booker I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily English 3 stars we re musicians not mathematicians what if i promise always to kiss you in sets of ten to make it simple so first here s the scoop on the book cady staunton and jasper holt have been tight buds forever strictly pals except for one random smooch in vegas eight years back but things take a wild turn during a destination wedding bash in venice their band might be on the rocks jasper s got a secret stashed away truth is they ve both been keeping their real feelings for each other under wraps they planned to keep it that way until a twist of fate and another accidental lip lock pushes them to take a chance they figure they ll use this venice weekend to test the waters of going from friends towell something if it doesn t pan out back to besties exceptthat never really works out does it plus there s the issue of jasper s big secret hanging over their heads not to mention the future of their band will their friendship or their shot at love even survive the weekend alright time for the actual review this one was cute the banter kept things lively and the characters were pretty likable overall it s a nice little story but here s the thing it felt rushed like seriously rushed the whole realization of feelings acting on said feelings it all happened at warp speed and that didn t sit quite right with me i mean come on we re talking about big emotions here and they just zoomed through it all i wish there was depth tension pining just of everything to spice things up because at times it felt a bit flat on the bright side venice was beautifully portrayed in the book it ll make you want to pack your bags and head there pronto oh and the band dynamic was cool too different personalities coming together like that it worked but let s talk about the dialogue or should i say lack thereof most of the time it was just narrative and when we did get some dialogue it was a bit cringey to be honest jasper had his moments where i was like um okay still despite its flaws it s a sweet little book worth checking out maybe save it for a road trip vibe it ll fit just right i tropes friends to lovers musicians band travel romance rockstar romance genre s romance contemporary don t be cute might as well ask the sun not to shine if this review sparked your curiosity or piqued your interest even a bit one weekend in venice hits shelves on may 24th 2024 ready and waiting for you to dive in thank you booksirens and the author for sending me a copy of this e arc opinions expressed in this review are completely my own English I was very beautiful I was hanging on to every word I was hooked from the beginning Defiantly going on my favorites shelf and rereads shelf. Book One Weekend in venice by car I enjoyed this book most of the time I really liked the 2nd half of the book the best I had a hard time connecting to the characters because the chapters felt choppy and all over the place The writing was good the plot was a great concept but the execution needed a bit for me I give this book 3 because it still kept my attention Honestly I liked it but I just kept wanting it to be over English
