Fun Book About Overcoming FearA charmingly illustrated book full of appealing colour and detail The story is entertaining and amusingly subverts the scariness of sharks by revealing that they have fears too This could easily become your child s favourite book and there s a touching final sentiment about love too Brianda Younggren Sheldon won t admit it but he s afraid of the dark His mama decides to have a little talk with him about it and he realizes everyone is scared sometimes I love the rhymes and the general theme of this story A lot of kids are afraid of unreasonable things and it s important to feel safe discussing them and coming up with solutions The illustrations are adequate if occasionally recycled and my only real problem with this book is that Mom is the hero not Sheldon It s definitely realistic for parents to solve problems that kids aren t mature enough to understand but I would have liked to see Sheldon making a few decisions of his own and learning to help himself Still this is a fun read that I d definitely recommend to young children learning how to express their fears and feelings Thank you to the author and BookSirens for this ARC All opinions are my own Brianda Younggren Sharks get scared tooPoor sharks always getting the bad rap for being fearless they have feelings too Loved the rhyming dialogue between Sheldon and his mom The illustrations make this book fun to read while kids learn what to do with similar fears Brianda Younggren Cute StoryThis is a cute story for kids who are afraid of the dark The target audience is young kids probably 3 5 and the story follows a young shark overcoming their fear Brianda Younggren Great for toddlers I love the colorful illustrations in this book Ideal for small children afraid of the dark or any other fear Brianda Younggren
