Site_link post a comment Past LivesI picked up this book to read today because I needed to finish anything yes but I needed also to see what poetry collected today reads like to get a sense of who today s poet is to try to understand what putting work into the world could feel like and there were those things yes but there also I was sitting on the ground where the homeless sometimes sit cool in the shade on the cool brick my bose headphones dead around my neck wondering if I passed for a bum for having nowhere else to be but the ground with a book during the early middle of the day When I am lost I look for myself within books but I am not within the books I read unless I daydream of writing of pulling from or paralleling existing on a same plane as the author which I do less and now frustrated as I am with how daydreaming passes time but I think that s the point to write gives the present for a future full of pasts everything the specific way the light hit an object or the specific song that played the things not seen or heard but recorded creating a character of the self and a narrative from being and it s tragic yet lacks tragedy for its belonging to the tragic genre but the collection is good nonetheless and I don t know why because it s also futile English
