Veil of the Damned (The Infernal Descent Series Book 1) By Joseph A. Sackett
Veil of the damned book review
creepy creepy creepyI have read lots of five star reviews this week Here s another one Extremely well written and well crafted story Better than I m used to seeing in the self publishing world It s actually creepy and gets me squirming around in my seat during certain parts Really looking forward to book two Fiction Paranormal Horror In pursuit of an ancient text college professor Daniel loses his wife and quickly finds himself in a dark alternate reality where he must face his past and make the journey through the nine circles of hell to save her. The painted veil pdf This is the first book in a series I believe the entire series is a modernized retelling of the Divine Comedy Veil of the Damned focusing on the story of Dante s Inferno I enjoyed Sackett s perspective on the circles of hell the monsters within and how he chose to have our MMC Daniel confront the sins of his past He managed to blend reality with fantasy in what at some points feels like a nightmarish fever dream Fiction Paranormal Horror I love Dante s Inferno and this book did not dissapoint Fiction Paranormal Horror Honestly I lost interest in this book when the author created an amalgamation with an ancient Babylonian deity Pazuzu who was considered a god to some and a demon to others and an ancient Assyrian demoness called Lilitu Lilith and then placing both of them in a version of hell that follows Abrahamic religions Basically there was zero synergy. Veil of the damnedbear Then there s the contradiction that at the time of Pazuzu s infamy he was the only entity who could thwart another demoness of the same Babylonian belief system named Lamashtu who ironically had very similar characteristics and inclinations to kill babies as Lilith Pregnant women at the time would wear amulets depicting Pazuzu with the belief they would keep their unborn child safe from Lamashtu Conversely this book has two historically opposing deities playing tag with each other like they were BFFs. Book veil of the damned pdf Advice if you want to write a book about demonology or angelology please read source material on them first instead of just tossing names made popular in television and video games into a book and trying to make a cogent story with them Fiction Paranormal Horror
