It still becomes a nightmare of constant failures for so many of us trying to attain it The Long Barren Path to Motherhood A Journey of Loss and Hope site_link post a commentMy entire adult life I had been certain that I would have issues conceiving Every doctor I had made sure to tell me that problems were certain to arise due to my weight and that getting pregnant would be a long uphill climb I watched several friends and family members struggle with infertility knowing that was sure to be my fate As a result I was left in complete and utter shock upon getting pregnant after only a few months of trying We ve never taken our immense luck for granted In the years since several close family and friends have not been as fortunate I never know what to say or what to do I don t want to pry too much I often feel like I have no place to even try since I haven t been through this journey myself This book was so helpful for me to see what the process entails and just how hard it is to go through the unimaginable The author writes her story so beautifully and keeps hope during the darkest moments She also speaks so vividly about the extreme need for research to prevent still birth due to people just not wanting to discuss something so awful We need to remember these lost lives no matter how hard because hiding them away is doing nothing to save them I hope things change This is a very important story that I m so glad this author was brave enough to tell English

There must be billions of motherhood experts I am not one of them I do have a story to share that although not uncommon is rarely publicly told in its entirety There is so much hidden and wrong with how we as a society handle infertility prenatal mental health pregnancy and infant loss the foster system and adoption A worldwide community of women have continuously battled infertility and loss for thousands of years all grieving and trying to survive in our own ways My path to motherhood and the similar paths of other women who have traveled down this road like me need a voice Until these experiences are finally and fully shared there will be no improvement Despite the fact that motherhood has been experienced since the dawn of time.
