What a charming book by Kinley Raine The book offers a unique take on the complexities encountered when trying to meet family s expectations Jackson and Brinn overcome challenges on their way to a supportive relationship I really enjoyed this book and am thankful to have had a chance to do so. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review 138 Jackson is Brinn s brothers best friend but also someone she chooses to distance herself from Jackson has always ignored Brinn and made her feel invisible when they were kids So when her newest patient is the grumpy Jackson Brinn isn t thrilled Their first meeting goes horribly but then they realize they can both help each other She needs his positive recommendation and him as a patient and he needs a fake fiancee to land his position in Grandfather s business Simple enough but not really when the feelings start to be anything but fake. Sweet sweet story This was my first time reading a book by Kinley Raine it certainly will not be the last one 138 Overall this was a charming sweet romance story It did take me a while to connect with both Jackson and Brinn but once I did I enjoyed it a lot There were some very nice heartfelt scenes about family expectations and what it means to be there for each other. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review 138 There s not much I can say about this book it was rushed I couldn t believe their relationship even for a second I think it would be believable if he was secretly obssessed with her growing up but apparently he really thought she was annoying and was actually mean to her so everything changing just because she is beautiful really rubbed me the wrong way 138 He needs to be married to inherit his companies firm. I m done with make believe I m going to make her mine Fake Fianc e for the GrumpJackson has been handed a raw deal Something went wrong on an operation while he was in the military and now he s been medically discharged and is in a tough situation. Brinn is this close to completing her doctorate but her long time crush who is also her brother s best friend is her final patient and he is difficult with a capital D But now Jackson needs help to fake an engagement so that he can take over his family company instead of his sceevy cousin Trevor And he wants Brinn to help him. There were a number of gaps in the story which I accept because there is only so much you can fit into a story of this length and the gaps were large enough to cause issues with the story overall. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review 138 If you love all around happily ever after stories then this one is for you At first I wasn t sure where or how they d get over how he treated her during her childhood Toss in his current grumpy attitude and you figure it might all go south with a quickness But this was a great story with really sweet characters except a certain cousin of course plus one set of not so great parents The ending was really wonderful 138 My Star Rating 3. 5 5 My Spice Rating 1 5 What you ll find Grumpy Sunshine Best Friend s Sister Fake Dating Clean Sweet Romance Small TownFake Fianc e for the Grump tells the love story of Jackson and Brinn Jackson is back home after being discharged from the military due to an injury Brinn is completing her PhD in physical therapy Brinn is Jackson s best friend s Greyson little sister When Jackson attends his physical therapy session Brinn is assigned to help with his treatment During a session he allows Brinn to inspect his leg injury but she ends up causing him pain and he leaves the session Jackson is in line to take over his family business but needs a girlfriend Brinn feels the arrangement will be mutually beneficial so she agrees to be his fake girlfriend and attend a family event with Jackson Jackson ends up telling his parents that he and Brinn are engaged The story gets interesting when Jackson s cousin Trevor tries to prove that Jackson and Brinn s relationship is fake Fake Fianc e for the Grump is a charming small town story with a good mix of romance tension and humor I loved Jackson and Brinn together The story is entertaining well written and ends with the characters getting their happy ending. Thank you Kinley Raine and Booksprout for the e ARC Opinions expressed in this review are my own 138 Military man beautiful doctor fake relationship rich family cousin we hate Brinn has a long time crush oh her brother s best friend Jackson and Brinn meet as she is his physical therapist He high tails it outta the office then ends ups needing a favor from her We hate Trevor and we don t get to find out a big question I feel like we needed information and definitely at the end Like what happened with the cousin rivalry who got the company For that I give 3 stars Otherwise it wasn t so bad Update review Got to read the epilogue and I feel like it did answer the questions With that added to the story I feel like that was what was missing So I change my review to a 4zI received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review 138 4. 5 sFake Fianc e for the Grump is a short sweet small town grumpy sunshine girl gets her brother s best friend romance Brinn is a physical therapist trying to finish her PHd Jackson is a hunky grumpy ex military man who was injured and discharged due to the same Brinn is his best friend s Greyson younger sister When he comes home he needs to go through physical therapy Brinn ends up being his therapist but when she causes a lot of pain he runs out He is hoping to take over the family s security business but needs a girlfriend or his married cousin Trevor who will get it He asks Greyson if Brinn can help and go to a family party with him She ends up reluctantly agreeing in exchange for a rave physical therapy review from him But of course real feelings become involved I thought they had decent chemistry but the story moved a little slow at times We do end on a happy note and the epilogue did wrap up my questions nicely Overall this was an enjoyable read, My return comes under challenging circumstances I left the military after our squad was lost in battle under my command: My injured leg is a daily reminder of my failure I m in line to take over my family s prestigious security company: I felt like both of the characters grew with each other and while I did think certain bits of the book were over the top for the most part it was an endearing story, If you want a sweet romance with a HEA this is a good choice: His cousin is married and so he thinks he should take over but he will destroy it So he runs into a sister of his old friend my best friend s sister. She s no longer a little girl she s stunning But her sunshine during sessions is irritating given my mood, She s still the only choice to be my fake fianc e at an important event In return I give her a glowing recommendation from my influential family: It s one night of mutual gain nothing But her gentle touch from therapy still lingers on my skin: Her warm smile is dismantling my carefully built walls It s supposed to be pretend but our connection is so real. As Brinn and Jackson work together to prevent Trevor from taking over the company they form a friendship clear up some misconceptions about their past and fall in love for real.
