Good readThis was a good read The ending was okay I did wish there was an epilogue though I know there are books in the series so maybe I ll get to see of the main characters Glory Sorority Rejects 1 4. Glory book 5 I loved everything about this book except the end I don t normally read YA it can be creepy ready about 18 year olds having sex I actually skipped over those parts This book was great and played true to life The ending though It was like running into a brink wall the way it stopped I think an epilogue may have eased the let down I still plan on reading the other books so it wasn t that bad Glory Sorority Rejects 1 I liked it Reread value 10 10 I assumed because it starts off YA it d be all fluff but it has layers There s a little spice I love a good romance that s what this gives Glory Tala have a few ups down every time Glory was mad at him I was like NOOOOO but they have a happy ending regardless of the oppositions he may face Is that a spoiler It was refreshing how everytime he hurt her HE IMMEDIATELY tried to fix it instead of drawing it out he would hear her out then explain himself Him so lovable But it s sorta like a romcom Also I loved the representations of blackness but ofc the author is black so she right by us also the touches of realism box braids him wanting to see her real hair her obsession w his hair him liking big girls big girls are beautiful but we don t get enough BBW as mfc like we should It s like a coming of age for Glory Glory Sorority Rejects 1 This is my first time reading one of Lisette s books and boy did I hop in at the right time. Gloryofzion.org Gloria Glory H Johnson is an academic darling who started her first year of college as a sopho With options to go to any school she opts to attend Silver Leaf University to get from under the thumb of her academically motivated parents. Glory pd-600 This decision leads to a lot of firsts in her life for the good and the bad She has to contend with the path her parents want and what she wants which leads to internal struggles but with the help of her friends she pivots to what will make her happy. Glory holes laws by state Tusitala Tala Brown is at first glance an althete with one goal to make it to the NFL and to do so he has to maintain a GPA with the expectation or no and no less than what was set The duo finds out they have a need that has to be filled Glory wants to join a sorority and Tala needs a tutor A deal is struck and throughout the time spent together lines are crossed and feelings are hurt While reading this I easily could relate to Glory and some of her struggles but at the same time relate to Tala Despite the trauma Glory is a force when it comes to protecting herself and loyal to her friends Tala has an immense love for his family love being an athlete and is a cinnamon roll by nature and holds himself accountable in everything. Book glory be Lisette wrote the hell out of the supporting characters all who deserve their own story Shout out for Moira for standing ten toes down and Lala for keeping Tala honest as his big sister As a whole each character has a depth and maturity in some areas that is very real in and it doesn t feel unnecessary or off The only hang up was the end wasn t enough for me and I hope we circle back to these two soon Glory Sorority Rejects 1
