So a chapter from his POV would have cleared things up a bit I would definitely read the next book to see how things unfold with Jasper and Diana OR with Diana and Oliver 272 Dirty Diana is a story about a woman whom is uncertain in her life and longing for a time that she let go of Diana feels stuck with her husband in a sort of marital limbo but they do not know how to get out if it I thought this book was well written and follows this woman as she hunts for what is missing I thought it was very poignant and exposing of what this character is going through and also very unforgiving towards the character I feel that it address what a lot not all people go through and shows how decisions.

Where to start First thank you to the publisher Random House and NetGalley for this eARC for an honest review Overall I enjoyed this book I found it incredibly engaging and interesting There are similarities between this book and the Netflix show Sex Life but not so much to where it feels redundant Diana and Oliver seem like the perfect couple but they are going through it their biggest issue is lack of communication and being honest about the lack of desire in their marriage on Diana s side The unfortunate thing is Diana can t help but be reminded of her former self and the vivid and sensual relationship she had with the mysterious Jasper I loved reading about Diana and Jasper I could see their situationship play out vividly in my head for the beautiful disaster that it was inevitably going to be However reading about Oliver and Diana post strip club was rough I hated the lack of honesty and the games that Diana was playing with him that seemingly backfired in her face at the end The only thing missing for me which I know this is about uplifting the feminine perspective but Oliver s motivation in the end didn t really make sense to me to go immediately to the nice apartment hanging out with Raleigh and turning his back on his wife without asking for a divorce first It just didn t seem in line with his character when they seem right at the time may not stay that way Also how easy it is for someone to be drawn to something of the past that may not still be right This was a very triggering novel for me and please read trigger warnings It is worth the read but it will draw out harsh realities for those who can relate in my opinion 3. Dirty diana by michael jackson A great read 272 Delightful and an absolute treat to read I was intrigued by the premise of DIRTY DIANA and was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up liking and enjoying this book It felt new and edgy while still being entertaining Funny sexy and at times emotionally moving At times I found my self crying and not always sure whywhich tells me I really needed to read this book I felt myself connecting to Diana even though our lives are so completely different I love the characters style of humor realness and emotional depth to the characters and story Diana is at point in her life where she feels lost and stuck in her marriage and job She is discovering how to reconnect with younger parts of her self and her desires in life The second part of this series can t come out soon enough Many thanks to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review 272 3 Man oh man do I have mixed feelings on this book The ending was a CLIFFHANGER but the beginning was a bit slow to start and reminded me a little too much of the show Sex Life even down to the identical plot and the little surprise at the end I also felt there was a little too much telling rather than showing and some of the scenes that were meant to be erotic felt overly clinical when the narrators kept say I did xyz Then I did xyz I also xyz When it came to characters I was attached to pretty much every character OTHER than the FMC and her horrible husband and I found her very difficult to sympathize with at times though maybe that was the point and her husband was WASP y privileged and as insufferably self absorbed as she was.
