The adults do try not to say any bad words in front of Dora We do get some timeline differences which is very cool and helps you to understand things that play out with the story I will state to check the CWs though they may contain some spoilers I went in blind because I m fine with that choice for me There is some violence and a little bit of gore with one of the scenes Some medical stuff toward the end of the book may be triggering to some This book was very well written and if it ever becomes an audiobook I want to listen The creepiness of hauntings that leave your hairs on end I enjoyed the details of the supernatural world I will say if you do burn sage make sure to leave a window or door cracked I really loved the darkness of the book and how it all ended We do get an HEA and I really appreciated the ending for the house Do enjoy this read that will have you on the edge of your seat Don t forget to give the author some stars shutupandbookup. Science fiction a house in shadows book A HOUSE IN SHADOW is a dark creepy horror novel that had me on edge the entire time You want so much for Tristan and Ally to be able to start their new happy life together but as weird things keep happening you wonder what exactly is lying in wait for them in their new dream house The relationship between the two main characters read very realistically to me Their marriage is a lot of people s marriage and this made me really feel for them worry about them This novel is twisty surprising and had me guessing until the last page Is the house haunted And if so what dark things happened there Or is Tristan simply losing his grip on reality I went back and forth so many times with my theories as to what was really happening The way Damon constructed the story both options seemed equally likely It drew me in immediately and I wanted to know if I was right so badly And I can t remember the last time a midpoint twist had me so hyped I don t want to give it away but it blew my mind and I literally gasped It changed my whole perception of the book I almost flipped back to beginning to read the first half again with this new knowledge You definitely want to check this one out It s a tense fast paced novel that you will not be able to put down Another thrilling one from Damon Erica Damon I d been saving reading this book until I had a quiet afternoon a silent house to concentrate and a large pot of coffee on hand Why Because I ve read this author s books before and I know I won t want to be interrupted once I start Her books are unputdownable in the best sense Creepy and gripping. House of flame and shadow book Tristan was a good character and well written There were a lot of things that weren t as they seemed We have dual POVs but the POVs are divided by parts I will state that nothing happens to Dora there are tense heart thumping moments Language is present especially because I read heavily at night before bed But recently I ve been wanting something spooky and was thrilled when I was able to get an early copy of this a perfect start to my paranormal adventures. Horror book about shadows Spooky things begin to happen from the get go I was less than five chapters in and already found my heart racing a couple of times It probably doesn t help I have a toddler of my own and now anytime I hear the pitter patter of little feet I m stressing until I see my kid Lost hours creepy child ghost doors slamming and people screaming is Tristan going crazy Is he seeing things Allison heading to her job every day isn t home to witness any of the events happening inside the house But Dora their toddler is beginning to see things as well So what the heck All in all I enjoyed A House in Shadow It was a quick easy read I liked the spooky bits the twists the sectioned book with individual POVs I do wish there were spooky but that s just me being weird Finally thank you Erica Damon for offering me an ARC for an honest review This was my first book read by her and it won t be my last Erica Damon This book had me hooked right from the blurb about it I love thrillers especially ones with creepy or haunted houses Overall it was a good book that keeps you wondering what s happening I had my suspicions about it and by part 2 I knew I was right but it was still intriguing enough to want to know the ending I enjoyed reading this book and am thankful for having gotten an ARC I do wish it had insight about Ally s experience with the house and the ending felt rushed but still a very well written book Erica Damon 4.
