One second it was this and the next it was about this Every sentence was backed up with a motivational quote I could have easily found off of Pinterest or Instagram reels and it became quite tiresome after a while so unsure what words are from your own mind or just copy pasted from other sources Also the copious amount of swear words I found so unnecessary and every time I happened upon one it disconnected me from absolutely everything I was reading about and whatever empathy I originally had very quickly flew out the window I fully understand the goal need to write a book but probably would have been better to make it just a blog or even yet stick to the podcast Paperback Well worth the read Inspirational.

UPDATE Author is no better than the bullies in his book After being openly mocked on social media for my honest and nicely worded review about this book I see now that the author has the exact same toxic nature and an absolutely sensitive ego which is very similar to the very bullies he vowed to fight against and heal from Honestly a cowardly act on his behalf without addressing anything else I stated in my review instead I was informed by others how my review was being laughed at publicly on a large platform Recommended to me I get the need to write about your life and tell your story that is an achievement so I do applaud you for that part But as someone who has loved ones who have actually very much attempted suicide and me personally having gone through that mental struggle myself as a single parent I think taking on the term suicide survivor as some badge of honour is a bit far fetched and honestly a bit insensitive and hurtful You speak of gaining self confidence throughout the book but at times things you say sounded very ego driven to me and I m not sure that is a healthy mindset to have nor encourage onto others Especially the part about you ill wishing your former boss s property would catch on fire in the same breath as saying he was a horrible person to you and how he treated you showed his true colours seems a bit hateful to me and unhinged unhealed honestly Everyone had their own tough time growing up with bullies and from what I know of the world bullying today is probably so much horrendous then what we got back in the day Not saying the bullying you experienced was nothing less because that s your own thing to process but from what I know and what I saw in school it could have been alot worse Yes your life may have been hard and had it s trials but people have absolutely gone through worse and are going through terrible things these days it just seems like you have tunnel vision for your own bad experiences without taking into account how difficult other people s lives are especially those of colour and in other countries other than Australia I think if you included diversity into your book and perhaps broadened your horizon to a wider state of empathy rather than your own it would of hit different in a way Yes I do agree with some of the advice you state in this book but it s all pretty standard knowledge and nothing new stood out to me as someone who is walking her own journey towards betterment so it falls flat for me on that accord. Easy Target kindle unlimited As an avid reader this book was very confusing and it read like a blog or better yet a reddit post The paragraphs and context changed so quickly I could barely understand where I was story wise because of the erratic jumps in the writing powerful moving Paperback Easy Target is Adam Blum s story of overcoming adversity He s a firefighter podcaster author and survivor He takes us from childhood health issues and bullying to emerging in a good place years later via therapy his beloved Nan and sheer hard work. Easy target book Reading this made me feel motivated and energised It s impossible not to feel inspired when someone takes control of their destiny and pushes through various challenges It made me want to do the same and reassess my goals and ways of achieving them It also made me want to eat healthier always a good thing Be brave and step out of your comfort zone Tackle a new challenge Choose that one you have always wanted to do and don t believe anyone who says you can t achieve your dreams I was hesitant to read this memoir because I thought aspects might resonate too much Like Adam I was on the receiving end of bullying during my school years At the time I shrugged my shoulders claimed it was water off a duck s back It took me years to realise how much it negatively impacted my mental health I chose to numb out the world with partying I was 22 when I decided to turn it around and take a different path the same age Adam was when he hit rock bottom and made a similar decision The cards you have been dealt in this life don t define you It is your actions that define you While some aspects of Adam s story were relatable there were plenty that weren t I was surprised to see regular mentions of finances in a book on mental health I struggled to relate to other life circumstances too During a significant housing crisis I m sure others may also find it difficult to understand or empathise with someone grieving after they sold a home at a great price This caused me to disconnect. Easy targets Towards the end Adam included friends and mentors and their stories of resilience They offered interesting fresh perspectives The book also included a summary of things Adam found useful in transforming his life Some tips and lessons were validating as they reinforced things I already do Others gave me a different way of looking at things or motivated me to try the unknown I think we can all benefit from practising self love mindfulness and gratitude I m glad we have people like Adam who are passionate about sharing the important stories of veterans and first responders Now that he has shared his own story I m sure it will inspire others Life is the most important gift that we are given Ageing is a privilege Many thanks to Big Sky Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Paperback Wow what a powerful brillant book that is written by Adam Through his story we witness his life and how he has become such an amazing person that even he still does not quite realise that he is This is such a beautifully written inspiring book We follow Adam and his journey through his life of severe bullying contemplating suicide his struggles with mental health his love for his family and his Nan but most importantly his accomplishments in life and what he has achieved Totally applaudable Even as I type this I feel emotions running through me remembering what he has endured Bullying will it ever stop I have had it twice and it is horrible but Adam was hit much harder than myself Name calling is so cruel at any age and to push someone to feel that he wanted to end his life is just so so incredibly sad When he was at that point of suicide I was thinking no Adam do not do it and thankfully his love for his Nan helped him but just ringing a mate was his greatest phone call he made that day It is simply good that his friend answered the phone Adam had me in tears sometimes and then laughing but not at him but with him in what he was relating I do not know Adam but found him to be so down to earth in his writing and very humorous He is incredibly open regarding what he has been through and be prepared for some swear words which are totally allowed within this story We all swear when difficulties hit us or under our breath As I was reading about his journey he made me remember a friend that I lost to suicide when she was about 16 and I was 17 I had just spoken to her the day before and never noticed anything about her behavior We were even going to meet up on the weekend I wish this book had been around back then and she was able to read it then she would surely be here today As I was halfway through the book I noticed that he was on Instagram and it was then I put the book down and went searching for him to follow Everyone should follow Adam as he has such an interesting life working with the NSW Rural Fire Service hosts a successful Podcast called True Blue Conversations I do not know much on how to listen to them though He has a big passion for Military and Veterans and I am sure we will see another book down the track from Adam as I hope to read of your next adventure on the Kokoda Track You are no longer a target for anyone and you certainly have been reborn twice as you mentioned at the end of your story I must thank BeautyandLace and BigSkyPublishing for sending this book for me to read Such a story that has really touched my heart and I will be keeping this book forever At the end of the book there are stories from the people that were in Adam s life during his journey and they have interesting stories themselves Yes there were tears and heartaches reading but I just say you are all worth so much and all inspiring as well with what you have achieved I highly recommend everyone to read this book and follow him on instagram He is an interesting human being who is much loved by many celebrities as well Well worth the read Paperback What a beautifully inspiring and heavy book Adam Blum writes with such emotion that I was left thinking about this book for days Bullying is a huge issue that is very close to my heart I was bullied to the point where I faked sick for two weeks so I wouldn t have to go to school and face those people Mental health awareness is also very very important to me and this journey of self help transformation and healing is a must read for anyone that is struggling or knows someone who is Thank you to bigskypub for sending me a copy of this book Paperback
