The Wife's babybus
Normal day turning to horrendous day affair but I felt a lot of emotion in the book as well as the quickfire action that we so enjoyI would say this is a untypical typical story from the author and I really enjoyed it and once again loved being in the written world of this amazing writer who can literally write a book a fortnight or feels like it Fiction Daniel Hurst I never know how to rate your books because A I seem to be living on outlier island B I don t actually hate them or even find them difficult to read C I finish them quickly and the twists do often shock me D I love the series The Doctors Wife But I just always feel like apart from The Doctors Wife series all of his other books have something missing I keep reading them after seeing all of these amazing reviews but this is it I ve deleted them all from my TBR list bar TDW 4 and I am going to enjoy reading other books instead Fiction Daniel Hurst has done it again I read this book in one sitting and it is PHENOMENAL A baby goes missing on a family holiday and nobody seems to know anything Who took Tuppence Gabby will never stop looking for her daughter Does someone know something about the kidnapping This book is a MUST READ Absolutely loved it Fiction Has anyone ever heard of the name Tuppence Just curious Now I hated Leon here I ve known men similar to him and his character drove me batshit crazy Like they got married and had a child because it was just something expected of them Not because they wanted any of it And they had no desire to change their lives over either or take any responsibility for wrongdoing Now this is probably a parents worst fear.

Another great story by the great Daniel Hurst When your baby goes missing you ll do anything to find her right Some nice twists thrown in at around 75% until the very last page Well done Daniel Fiction A very stand out cover for a stand out bookThis is Daniel Hurst with not just the twists we have come to love and expect but also an added twist that an author is involved in the story and as always I find it fascinating when an author writes about an author it is a really clever inclusion to the storyThe story itself is quick action in having their child taken Gabby was a new mother who found herself in that situation with a garbage husband As she navigated the possibilities including corruption in law enforcement a mourning couple who wanted to replace their own lost child and tons of suspicious people and happenings in Stirling she fought a tumultuous battle to find her baby all by herself And what she found was something much worse than she could have imagined Great intrigue and suspense from Daniel Hurst I did want intensity during the finale where she finds the guilty party It just felt a little anticlimactic especially given the circumstances But this is still a solid thriller from an author that has rarely disappointed Fiction

The Wife's babyfoot 8 It was a good book kept me hooked from the beginning Though I guessed who it was gonna be halfway through it I still had fun And the last chapter was the cherry on top Fiction Her baby went missingbut she wouldn t give upDaniel Hurst is back firing on all cylinders with this superb psychological thriller with twist after twist Enough to give you whiplash After his previous The Colleagues which I found to be a huge disappointment I was thrilled to be racing through the pages of this one which is the style of of the author I ve come to know and love.
The Wife's babybus Gabby and Leon have been together for seven years and married for four Happily Not especially In fact not even close Which is why Gabby decided to book a four day getaway to the historic Scottish city of Stirling for them and their six month old baby Tuppence It was meant to be a fresh start to rekindle that spark they had lost in the wake of feeding times nappies and sleep routines Intimacy was something that was so far removed after pregnancy and giving birth Maybe that s why Leon went looking elsewhere He claimed it didn t mean anything He was only looking But he did than that as Gabby discovered he paid a hefty monthly subscription for the pleasure that was to be all his for the taking Maybe she should she have walked out then But she loved her husband which is why she gave him another chance And that s why they now find themselves in Stirling for a mini break.
The Wife's babybus Everything appears to be going smoothly Their holiday rental is luxurious and divine The city is beautiful And the castle is stunning Even Leon seems happier Maybe this holiday is working Gabby finally sees some hope for her failing marriage.
The Wife's babybus And then on their final night in the beautiful city Gabby takes Tuppence out in the pram for their nightly pre bedtime routine walk And everything changes Before the end of the night Gabby will be distraught Leon will be blaming her and Tuppence will be gone.
The Wife's babygpt What ensues is a mother s doggedness and tireless desire to find out what happened to her missing daughter No matter how long it takes No matter how much of a nuisance she makes of herself And that she does rather effectively But despite all this Tuppence remains missing Her whereabouts and her disappearance a complete mystery But Gabby knows that the street on which her daughter went missing is key and refuses to give upeven if the police have On the anniversary of Tuppence s disappearance she joins forces with a local crime writer in the hope that two heads are better than one and that together they can uncover the truth about what happened to Tuppence.
The Wife's babycat This is Daniel Hurst at his best and I devoured every page of this book in record time And like all of his thrillers just when you thought you had it figured out Hurst throws in yet another twist directly after another and such is his skilful sleight of hand in that he peppers his tale with red herrings to keep you looking in a different direction Can you figure out what really happened before the big reveal I have to tell you even I a seasoned thriller reader who is very rarely hoodwinked was scuppered this time Well played Mr Hurst.
The Wife's babybus Now I just have to find time to squeeze in all his other booksThis review appears on my blog at Fiction The king of revenge plots Daniel Hurst returns following The Colleagues with his latest thriller THE WIFE S BABY This twisty shocking and unexpected domestic suspense follows a wife husband and baby on a getaway that goes terribly wrong ending with a sinister kidnapping that will keep you glued to the pages until the final twist when all the dirty secrets are revealed Gabby and Leon s marriage is on the rocks They have been together for seven years and married for four Since the birth of their daughter Tuppence things have gone downhill with all the responsibilities of a baby.
The Wife's babyhills Leon is often absent preferring nights out at the pub with the guys or at the gym He does not help out with the baby or do his part Their marriage is suffering as well Gabby has recently caught Leon being naughty subscribing to an online site chatting with women webcam girls offering their services and wasting their money Gabby feels insecure about his preference for those women over her He says he will stop but she does not trust him She says they are over but he begs for a last chance Gabby has arranged a holiday in Scotland Stirling to rekindle their relationship and as a last attempt get their family back on track She hopes the three of them can bond even though it takes some planning with all the clothes nappies toys wipes bottles milk etc.
The Wife's babyhills and the train ride Leon is hot and cold She never knows what mood he will be in However things go differently than planned At times Leon is present but even on their holiday he is at the pub or taking their daughter out in the stroller and gone for long periods.
The Wife's babybus She also meets a mysterious woman at the market who admires her daughter She seems to be stalking On their last night Gabby takes Tuppence out in the stroller for a walk to wind down Leon chooses not to go along She hears a woman crying out and walks away from the stroller for a minute to the garden behind the house to see where the cries are coming from She cannot find anything but when she returns to the stroller her baby is GONE Gabby is frantic What happened to her baby She was gone in just seconds and the neighborhood was nice Who snatched her baby Was it the woman who seemed to always be looking at her baby The authorities are called in and time goes on with no leads or clues as to what happened to baby Tuppence.
The Wife's babyfxce Gabby is determined to find her daughter even though Leo has all but given up and returned to his life She will not stop until she finds her daughter This drives them further apart to separation and he moves away She is on her own with her mom Gabby begins her investigation when it appears the authorities have given up She travels from Edinburgh back to Stirling On the anniversary of her baby s disappearance Gabby joins forces with a local crime writer in the hopes they can uncover the mystery of what happened to her daughter She thinks Buckingham Place is the key to finding her Someone in Stirling has a secret Hurst ratchets up the suspense and tension as readers try to figure out what happened to this baby girl while a tenacious mom will stop at nothing until she finds her Mix in Cameron a novelist looking for a good story a detective and someone locking her in a basement Who can she trust You will root for Gabby and Tuppence and despise Leon Excellent character development and a wicked revenge twist THE WIFE S BABY is a read in one sitting and it is unputdownable I had my business taxes to tackle so halfway through I put it on audio and allowed the robotic voice to read the remainder It was well worth it and I managed to knock out my taxes and finish this highly entertaining tale.
The Wife's babydam Hurst s highly creative writing delivers the unexpected with many surprising twists and turns THE WIFE S BABY is a must read if you enjoy solving mysteries and tracking clues It s a wild ride another CRACKER of a read by Hurst Blog review posted JudithDCollins.
