The only characters who ever really get any lines are Kitty Synch Laura Emma Wolverine Firestar and Ms Marvel Most of them have no depth Synch and Laura just talk about Synch s great love story over and over Because Marvel decided to throw two people together as a couple and order us to care about them after supposedly giving them thousands of years of romantic history that happened off panel in a single issue Ms Marvel is treated as a cute hopeful little kid Firestar talks about her faux betrayal And that s about it. This issue tries for pathos but it comes across as naive Much as people complained about the treatment of Arya Stark s character in the final season of Game of Thrones now Kitty is being written as a cold hearted assassin who somehow never thought through what it means to be a cold hearted assassin We ve seen her kill Recently even But somehow she has a change of heart in this issue Or self doubt anyway. I do think killing is always wrong but I also understand why one might choose to do it anyway Stop waffling If you re going to commit to being a ninja just be a fucking ninja.
