Emma Uranova enjoys her office job until her boss disappears with the investors money To avoid the media storm and false accusations Emma flees to Whispering Creek Tennessee to live on her best friend s secluded property When a temporary position opens up in Nashville Emma leaves small town anonymity to pad her depleted bank account With a handsome new boss and a steady income Emma believes life is looking up until she discovers she has transported the scandal in her backpack Where is God when her life is falling apart Wade Donoven is recuperating from a crash that sidelined him from the family electrical business Worse yet his prodigal younger brother is getting the glory for Wade s accomplishments Desperation and physical setbacks have him agreeing to let Emma help him manage the business office But when trouble follows her to his doorstep Wade must make some difficult choices Sending Emma back to Whispering Creek may unknowingly place the woman he s come to love in danger Escape to Whispering CreekWOW This story is chocked full of fun friendship suspense intrigue Even possible danger lurking around every corner I so enjoyed being back in Whispering Creek with Sam and Cole but loved when Samantha s best friend Emma literally escapes to Whispering Creek What a tangled web she finds herself in It seems the she attempts to seek anonymity the further in despair she becomes And the good in Emma brings to Wade than healing Such a great story This book may be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed and understood by reading Christmas at Whispering Creek first Christian Romance Historical Fiction Escape to Whispering Creek is the first book I have read by Barbara Britton but it certainly will not be the last There is so much to love about this story I recently came across the phrase What didn t work out for you actually worked out for you and that seems to be Emma s story in a nutshell Her dream job with an investment company goes up in flames when her boss absconds with his investors money along with Emma s life savings leaving Emma to deal with the fallout She flees to Whispering Creek and the home of her lifelong friend Sam where she lands a temporary job that seems like a Godsend if she can win over her grumpy but oh so handsome new boss Wade I m drawn to realistic likeable characters and this story has a full cast The dialogue is fresh and up to date and I especially loved Emma s simple honest prayers Pray without ceasing seems to be her way of life Add a lovely setting and numerous obstacles thrown in Emma s path and you have a top notch Christian romance you won t be able to put down I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this book Christian Romance Historical Fiction I enjoyed Christmas in Whispering Creek so I looked forward to reading the sequel I started reading on a cross country flight and was thrilled the time passed so quickly since the story was so engaging The story starts with Emma s world turning upside down She s dealing with so much but she is a spunky fun strong heroine You know she ll get through her trials but Ms Britton makes you nervous for her Wade is a big grump when Emma meets him and it s fun to see his journey The Donaven family is one you d like to join for dinner and Sam and Emma s friendship is the very best kind Through ups and downs Sam and Emma lean on one another and you can t help rooting for Wade and Emma to find happiness even with all the obstacles in their way You don t have to read Sam and Cole s story to enjoy this one but I recommend reading them both simply because you ll enjoy them If you like romances with a spiritual theme weaved into the story you ll want to Escape to Whispering Creek along with Emma Christian Romance Historical Fiction Wade Donoven can t do his job while recovering from an auto accident He s angry with life When perky Emma is temporarily hired as office help at Donoven and Sons Electric he s resentful But she does an amazing job of acupressure to relax his hand that s stiffened into a claw As his healing progresses his interest grows. Whisper creek cabin rentals Emma has her own problems Her former boss absconded with investors money including Emma s savings and she had to disappear Yet it seems like someone followed her She d had peace about working for her missing boss Why couldn t God have put up a roadblock Christian Romance Historical Fiction
