Not for the Faint of heartzap north Jesse grew up in the suburbs of Dallas Texas before moving to Grand Rapids MI for college After graduating she lived in Indianapolis and Myrtle Beach SC for many years and now finds herself back in west Michigan with her husband and daughter site_link Such a good wholesome read I absolutely loved this book Not for the Faint of Heart This book reads like a cold glass of lemon water on a hot day so refreshing relaxed and sweet It s a clean romance at the highest level but as you dive in you learn it s than that It s a story of relationships beyond the romantic family friends neighbors and how beautiful and unexpected these life giving relationships can be for a person My favorite part was Emma s internal dialogue as she navigated life s awkward situations it had me laughing out loud Also the vibrancy and colorful setting of Myrtle Beach came alive and transported me the makings of an excellently executed summer read Not for the Faint of Heart I never read blurbs when I go into books so I didn t know what to expect with this one I thought maybe it was romance there are romance aspects of course but goodness I was not expecting that emotional journey It was beautiful I loved Emma s character so so much She has dealt with a lot and my heart broke for her as she dealt with her grief I loved getting to see her begin to live again though Grief can make days monotonous and make you unable to see the good in actually living life to the fullest and I was glad she finally discovered that through the help of her friend Austin and Louise I KNEW that Louise was a special character I had a soft spot for her at the very beginning of her being introduced and now I know why. Not for the Faint of heartzest but it was the sweetest connection that had me in tears for the rest of the book Not for the Faint of Heart This book may look a bit like a romance but it s about a journey of self discovery and overcoming tragedy The MC Emma lost her mom in high school and years later is still struggling with that grief Through a move to a new city and move in by her best friend she starts to branch out and see the path to healing Then a chance encounter turns into a much meaningful relationship with a twist you ll never see coming I enjoyed this book It was an easy read that kept me turning the pages I did want a little from it though I felt like the characters dialogue and situations could have been fleshed out just a little bit I think if the writing went a little in depth the plot would have tugged a little harder on my heartstrings The dialogue also read a little stilted at times I really loved the author s note at the end about Jesse s writing journey and decision to self publish this book I hope she finds some success with it It s quite an accomplishment to put a book into the world Not for the Faint of Heart
