Best served coldthe complete series book review 1 COLD TRUTHI ve been waiting with anticipation for this book to be released ever since I read the prequel Rough Diamond in the Dangerous as Sin anthology and it was so worth the wait If you re a fan of Simone Leigh then you ll recognize the name Hickman If you ve not read her previous works or recognize the name take heart she s given a brief overview of where the characters fit into things Of course you won t get all the exciting and dramatic bits that come with the actual stories but you will be able to pick this book up and have things fall into place fairly easily I m thrilled Hickman gets his story told and all the drama excitement and angst that came with the first book promises to be an exhilarating series 2 COLD BLOOD I was thoroughly impressed Leigh s ability to captivate her readers is truly remarkable Even if you haven t read her previous works you ll find yourself invested in the story from start to finish The familiar characters of James Michael Charlotte Richard Beth Larry and Mitch all make an appearance but what s interesting is the significant role that Ross and the children play in this book The central character Hickman is the driving force behind the plot Leigh has a way of building a story that starts slow but before you know it you re on the edge of your seat heart racing and eyes darting back and forth like an old fashioned cat clock I ve never been a fan of Georgie s character and once again she finds herself in the middle of something she doesn t understand which could cause significant problems for the family 3 COLD COMFORTI have to admit that Simone Leigh is my literary hero Her writing style characters and world building combine to create a stunning reading experience that inspires loyalty and a following The plot of the story is so complex and intriguing that I don t want to spoil it for anyone However I will say that my feelings towards Georgie have changed Borje is starting to irritate me and I m proud of Richard for standing up for what he believes in This book is a real nail biter and the story is far from over.
