Frees them from her evil uncle The guys she fell for fast dies and the other guy she s been in love with bestie is just cool about it and says I know you love me too and I can t wait This was a weird one and it definitely reads like it was an odd dream which basically is what the author said it was Had potential for but I just wasn t that interested The Sunflower Stone Sunflower stone 3 4 First off thank you so much Cynthia for letting be an arc reader The book starts with a warning from the author that the writing is a little juvenile but it s juvenile than I anticipated The book starts off with a good pace and decent world building By the middle it s a little of a mystery either because of how it s written or because the author wanted some mystery to it but I couldn t tell which and the story line gets a little harder to follow By the end the book crumbles into chaos Now it is chaotic for the main character but with the juvenile writing it s hard to follow the character through all that chaos It s also hard believing the high stakes we re told the main character Safina is facing We see some cool magic that was being explained but never really fleshed out and we don t really see Safina learn how to use her magic with any amount of control The story starts out with really good pacing but by the end it s mostly rushed chaos with juvenile writing making it difficult to connect to the characters Definitely would have gotten stars with a long fleshed out story.

This was a fun ride following Safina as she navigates her destiny with her best friend Jason I was hooked after reading the premise as I experienced a lot of night terrors as a child There are creatures that can infiltrate dreams and they feed on nightmares Sign me up With romance twists and magic I was not sure who exactly to trust right up until the end everyone was suspect But the fast plot kept things moving in a way that it wasn t frustrating to not know who to trust Intrigued Check it out on Kindle Unlimited Thank you to Cynthia Scala and Booksirens for the ARC copy views expressed here are my own The Sunflower Stone Safina is a college student who has difficulty with sleeping well Her bff Jason assists her in finding a sleep specialist to evaluate Saf pours a significant amount of trust into people she makes acquaintances with during the sleep study She struggles to make connections with details in her dreams and in her reality as she progresses through her sleep study The Sunflower Stone is predominantly a psychological fiction with hints of fantasy The writing style has abrupt shifts much like you would experience if you were in a sleep deprived dream like state Thank you for allowing me to read an ARC of your work The Sunflower Stone This was such an interesting read about an 18 year old college student who has been having trouble sleeping Safina is just trying her best to further her education after a tough childhood She was raised in an orphanage with her best friend Jason who has always been there for her Now in college she s been suffering from lucid dreams and night terrors which are causing her to feel unwell After much convincing from Jason she goes to see her doctor and he suggests that she join a sleep study to figure out why she s having so much trouble sleeping Before going to the study Jason reveals some important information about who she is and that there is another world that she s a part of Many strange things happen and we get many vivid details about her dreams as she s going through them It was fun trying to figure out how loyal those around Safina were to her or if they were looking to harm her I recommend this book if you are into books that involve to worlds that deal with dreams and how those affect people Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an ARC copy of the book The Sunflower Stone This was an absolute interesting read Thank you Cynthia Scala for such a unique book I have always been fascinated by dreams and this book all about dreams and a world called Rem love the play on words here was most interesting The book descriptions first line states would you stop sleeping to avoid your fate of nightmares and the creatures that feed upon them The FMC Safina is dealing with dreams and because of them checks into a sleep study to find out truly what is going on This book has a touch of fantasy action romance and plot twists By mid story you have some mystery The writing style of the author takes some getting used to at least for me anyway I felt it had a good pace some areas did feel rushed but all and all a good book This was an advanced readers copy and this is my voluntary review As always thank you for the opportunity The Sunflower Stone I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily So just to start off it is very rare that I rate anything as one star But I had to rate this that way The idea behind the story was interesting but the execution of it was severely lacking In the author s note there is a warning that the writing would come off as a bit juvenile I think the writing was incredibly juvenile the MC is supposed to a college student but so acts like a middle schooler Everything within the story itself felt so rushed and jumbled up It was confusing to read and I don t think having it be under 250 pages helped the cause The author needed room to flush out and pace the story The Sunflower Stone.
