In 2024 Ascend Books released Marian Washington s memoir Fierce My Fight for Nothing Less The book is coauthored by Vicki Friedman This wonderful autobiography features Marian Washington s African American legacy from her birth in 1946 to her retirement in 2004 Marian pioneered the social movement of her race in building a female sport legacy while serving 31 years building the women s basketball program at the University of Kansas She spent many of these years working directly with Kansas University Chancellor Archie Dykes leading female athletic programs in nine different university female sports Her champion ship achievements.
