Rewitched ebookee Rewitched tells the story of Belladonna Blackthorn a witch who works in a London bookshop On her 30th birthday she must prove herself worthy of the magic she possesses The book is advertised as cozy fantasy and indeed it can be considered as such but in the best sense of the word Most of the cozy fantasy novels I ve read have been rather boring and I had to push myself to get through them Rewitched is the complete opposite The book is absolutely fast paced and you can even finish it in a day Seriously I think that is the biggest advantage of this novel It s really not easy to write a book that feels cozy and exciting at the same time The reason for this may be that the author simply writes very well Rewitched is written in accessible language with descriptive but not overly elaborate passages It just reads well so much so that even in moments when the plot wasn t quite working for me I had a great time. Rewitched book Speaking of the book s shortcomings it is important to point out that the plot unfolds rather slowly The first 30% of the book feels like an extended synopsis Of course this doesn t mean that a third of the novel is bad or boring but we just don t learn anything new in the first 120 pages that we didn t already know from the description on the cover I also felt that the ending specifically the identity of the villain and the way the main conflict was resolved was poorly supported by the plot and thus not very believable I won t go into detail to avoid spoilers but when I found out who was behind the whole intrigue it felt like a plot necessity with little to do with the earlier characterization of this person Speaking of the main character Belle I have to admit that I didn t really like her She wasn t thoroughly annoying but a lot of her behavior seemed incomprehensible to me and some of her reactions were cringe inducing However I really enjoyed Belle s relationship with her mentor and the whole found family aspect The protagonist s dynamic with her loved ones certainly adds to the cozy aspect of the book There is also a romance subplot in the novel but it is definitely not brought to the forefront and appears rather late in the book I have some reservations about how it was handled but that s mainly due to the aforementioned fact that I didn t like the main character. Rewitched kindle paperwhite I loved this book and binged it all in one day The writing style was incredibly descriptive I could vividly visualize the locations and understand the magic system The author clearly enjoyed building this world and took the time to set everything up properly which made me fully committed to Belle and her development by the time her trials began It also felt like a really realistic story in the middle of this paranormal world life just gets in the way of your dreams and hopes sometimes and before you know it life is completely different to what you d planned. Rewitched epublishing I don t want to spoil any details of the plot but I thought it was all really clever The trials weren t just there for the sake of it but were linked to the main story so well As well as a strong plot that just hooked me and also ramped up in tension as the countdown ticked down I also loved the side characters Belle s new mentor was definitely a highlight but Belle s friend Ariadne her mother Bonnie and her Watchman Rune were all great characters The slow burn romance felt like an added bonus to the story I loved it but I did really appreciate that the story was about Belle s relationship with herself and with her magic and her relationship with Rune was like a lovely addition to the story but not the main focus. Rewitched book What a wonderfully sweet story This novel captured me from the very first pages transporting me to a quiet corner of a delightfully autumnal London among rainy days brightly colored trees tea and various treats an extremely cozy and adorable bookstore and lots of effervescent magic Seriously reading this book gave me the feeling of being wrapped in a warm embrace curled up in a comfortable cocoon perfectly serene and relaxed. Rewitched booking The story talks about magic but before that it deals with the difficulties and unforeseen events of life how things do not always turn out as desired sacrifices and renunciations broken hopes and dreams discouragement and self loathing At the same time however it is also a story about healing finding self confidence not giving up hope learning to accept and love oneself life and much An emotional book that moved me repeatedly leaving me with tears in my eyes at certain moments It is a slow quiet novel that takes its time without any rush I loved everything about it and can express nothing but compliments Belladonna Belle Blackthorn protagonist with her only first person pov won me over Belle is the representation of what I said above and I found myself bonding with her a lot I found her profound portrayed in an excellent way and with fantastic development She made me laugh smile and suffer involving me totally The secondary characters are incredible perfectly distinguishable from each other and full of sentiment The found family that develops between the pages then is something so tender I think I melted while reading the bonds that are created between the characters Also there is not a lack of really sweet slow burn romance marginal to the story but still tasty All in all Rewitched is an extremely cozy and heartwarming fantasy novel that I absolutely loved and recommend to lovers of the genre as the perfect fall read Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review Lucy Jane Wood I need this cosy fantasy book so bad The cover feels like it s giving me a hug. This is such a cosy witchy book Definitely perfect for autumn I really enjoyed it pretty much read it in one sitting I did enjoy the writing style and description used it made the world building really easy to follow and imagine The pacing was really good and I did find myself immersed in the story I really like Belle she was really relatable and this made it all the endearing It was nice to see her struggles in her life and with her magic and how for everyone sometimes life can be a little overwhelming and things get pushed back Overall it is a story of rekindling a love for her magic trusting that she can do than she thinks I loved her support network the characters were all so lovely The trial aspect was woven into the story very well and added extra support to the overall plot There is a little bit of mystery and enjoyed the reveal at the end. Rewitched epublishing I really did adore Rune I wanted so much of him He was charming supportive Their slow burn was filled with tension and chemistry and added to the excitement of the story The book has a larger focus on Bella s journey rather than the romance which does work well though I did find the start a little slow and for me the story really picked up around 30% and once it started it was amazing It s an adorable read and so heartwarming I highly recommend it Thank you to bookbreak and netgalley for the copy for an honest review Lucy Jane Wood Read my review and many on my book blog here you to NetGalley for this early edition This was an absolute joy to read Synopsis Belle Blackthorn is still considered a witchkind of At 29 her magical prowess has fallen to the wayside as she focuses on simply just surviving Lunar Books is her pride and joy but with no self confidence to take over the store as the old manager passes it along it falls into the hands of a horrible new boss On top of that about to turn 30 she receives a mysterious letter delivered by a mysterious and handsome guy about a witch trial she now has to attend A trial where they asses her use of her magic for the past 15 years and determine if she is worthy to keep it for life Teamed up with an unlikely mentor Belle learns what it takes to be a witch and to truly believe in herself Plot This was everything I wanted and A perfect fall cozy fantasy read that needs to be on everyones TBR I love love loved this Not only does it feature a bookstore with a lot of cozy charm but follows a witch as she learns to come into her magic and herself There is an animal companion a wonderful best friend a banter filled romance and a tight mother daughter bond What could you ask for I felt all the emotions when reading this I swooned I laughed and was almost brought to tears by the sincerity of the characters and the sweet relationships and found family they create I loved all of the magical aspects including the coven and its intricacies And despite this being a cozy fantasy there was still an epic battle at the end and a lot of twists and turns along the way When I finally got into this I got INTO it and couldn t put it down Characters The characters have to steal the show for cozy fantasies to hit their mark and they definitely did here I am so in love with each one and they all brought their individuality to the story to just make it that much special Arty is especially one that I adored and every time he was on the page I was swept away with sweetness What an adorable character I also have to say that I appreciate that even though there was a romance aspect to this it was never overwhelming the plot in any way Both characters still stood on their own and their eventual attraction toward each other was never forced and instead was another added element to the overall storyline Belle is so special and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to her I appreciate that this wasn t another 20 year old trying to figure out their life but instead a 30 year old trying to find their spark again Will be immediately buying a copy when this hits the shelves in September 4. Rewitched epublishing 5 stars Lucy Jane Wood 4 stars Cosy witchy girlies this one is for you As someone who grew up watching and loving 90s TV show Charmed the comforting magical feel of Rewitched was delicious Some strong Halliwell vibes coming through from Belle and her mama here Chef s kiss Also the fear of the 30s fast approaching and not having it all worked out is REAL Couple that with some supernatural dramas and you ve got my attention Here s what I loved the most about Rewitched The worldbuilding it s abundantly clear that SO much effort went into developing the lore behind Belle s coven and the magical abilities in this book. Rewitched book I found myself instantly immersed in their world The characters not only our protagonist but each of the side characters are crafted with such care and I loved learning little snippets about all of them I can see some serious potential for a series here Give me Ariadne immediately please And I would like Christopher also for the chaos Autumnal vibes pump that orange hue pumpkin spiced misty graveyard late night moonlit coffee aesthetic directly into my veins Jinx the cat this book features a cute cat need I say Okay so why 4 stars Two words More Rune. Rewitched book I just felt like the romance wasn t enough for me I loved the slow burn of it all but the payoff just wasn t quite there The potion scene was close the chemistry was definitely there but I needed a little from it A second book featuring Belle and Rune would definitely keep us romance girlies fed though This was such a lovely read that I ll definitely be revisiting during spooky season.
