Book Colours of siena pdf But when her father is murdered she s banished to the country Can Clara persuade Ambrogio to rescue her Will family and the Black Death stop Clara realising her dreams Colours of SienaClara lives in Siena Tuscany s art capital working as a servant to the city s most powerful families When a very expensive painting is brought to town Clara falls in love with it and also falls in love with the idea of colours and painting Unfortunately though her dream is short lived when her father is murdered and she is sent to live with family in the country We follow Clara from childhood starting with her working as a servant alongside her mother and father I had a lot of hatred for Clara s mother very early on in this book She was definitely a piece of work Seeing how her mother acted with Clara we get to see why Clara s life ended up the way it did and I believe why she had a clinging desperation to art We follow Clara into adulthood where her desperation to return to Siena and learn about painting heightens She goes to desperate lengths to try return some of which put her in danger and some leave her in huge predicaments Throughout this book I had times where I just wanted to shake Clara and tell her what she was chasing was wrong and she should be looking closer to home for what she had When the Black Death hit town though I admired her for trying to help her family even when some possibly didn t deserve the help I felt deeply for Timoteo I felt like he was definitely underappreciated throughout the story and deserved a lot recognition for what he sacrificed and put up with I won t spoil anything but I have to say I adored the ending of this story That is exactly what I wished would happen when Clara made the decisions she did after the Black Death came to town Overall I loved this story It had a unique storyline with so many great characters many likeable some not so much I found myself constantly wanting to pick this book back up and return to Clara s story and I was intrigued to see what would happen next English
