Especially for someone they just recently met I was impressed by his character This was a quick read that flowed smoothly There was a little bit of angst but it s not over the top This may be the hottest book by this author I ve read so far I really loved the sparks that flew between Levi and Hayden I still would have liked a bit time spent outside the bedroom but we do get a good amount that makes the relationship believable even though it unfolded quickly I received and ARC from the author All thoughts and opinions are my own 270

A great start to the book which straight away it got me glued into the story I loved the brotherly love banter the brothers have at the beginning Hayden 29 years was the owner of his successful restaurant which he worked hard for His brother was a parole officer who bribes him into taking on one of his clients despite Hayden always saying no in the past Levi 235 stars for a sweet romance with a spicy startThis was an interesting read not only because of the characters but also due to the flow of the book. In his corner kindle unlimited So first the characters Hayden is a chef in his restaurant and truth be told mostly a dick Listening to some of my friends who work in restaurant kitchens this seems to be a normal thing But he also has his good traits and therefore I really liked him Levi was similar in character to Hayden Very hard on the outside but he has a big heart. In this corner of the world manga Maybe he gets his own book and that will change my mind The story was sweet and fluffy in parts and spicy in other parts and they talked a lot which I always appreciate Also I loved how the relationship developed which was really well done But and there is always a but isn t it some actions of our MCs which were important for the story development just didn t fit properly But maybe that is a me thingSo if you are looking for spicy swe this could be ir 270 A fun hurt comfort read right on the edge of being angsty yet isn t Hayden Levi do not understand each other so they tend to be oil and water with undeniable chemistry Hayden makes the mistake of treating him as his past shows and not a real person When Levi is needed Hayden immediately steps up and helps him on his feet to actually have a chance on the outside Hayden has top tier dirty talk that yeah just well done Their chemistry was there and you could feel the depth of their connection as it grew and Levi let Hayden in Wish Levi would have handled certain incidents better or there was to it Like you felt the build up for something and it just didn t hit as hard as you were anticipating So if you re looking for low angst with an edge this will be the perfect read for you 270 C 3. The bookstore on the corner book 5 starsIn His Corner is a low angst contemporary romance about a grumpy chef and the ex con who goes to work at his restaurant It s well written and steamy and I like the author s voice and style but the romance is rushed and lacks a certain spark. Book in his corner lyrics meaning Top chef Hayden Quinn has worked hard every hour of every day to turn his restaurant into a thriving business and he runs his kitchen with an iron hand He s tough abrasive and doesn t suffer fools and his staff respect and fear him in equal measure His brother Darien is a probation officer and when he asks Hayden to take on one of his new parolees Hayden s immediate instinct is to say no He s put absolutely everything he is into the business and the last thing he needs is some ex con around screwing it all up but ends up agreeing to take the guy on He ll just get rid of him at the first opportunity. Books around the corner Levi Gutierrez is twenty three and served two years in prison for stealing cars Now he s out he s determined to keep his nose clean and stay out of trouble so that he can be there for his elderly grandmother who had to move into a nursing home while he was inside Levi arrives at the posh restaurant to start the job his parole officer has set him up with and while the boss is as much of an arsehole as his brother had said he d be Levi gets to work and tries not to attract too much attention. In this corner grump Except he does Attract attention that is The minute Hayden sets eyes on Levi he knows he s going to be trouble with a capital T his dark curls handsome face and long lean body waking up Hayden s long dormant libido in no uncertain terms Levi s done time and Hayden doesn t trust him not to do something that will get him sent back inside but his body doesn t care about any of that or that he s an employee He ll have to settle for lusting after the bad boy like a bad clich. In this corner kinky boots A couple of weeks later Levi and Hayden start hooking up on the regular despite their employer employee status The sex is hot and satisfying it s been a long time for both of them and Hayden s office walls and desk see action in the following few weeks than they ever have But after few weeks Levi realises he s not okay with being merely a convenient place for his boss to stick his dick when he feels the urge He s not asking for a trip down the aisle but is a bit of conversation and having Hayden actually take an interest in him as a person too much to ask I confess that I didn t like Hayden much for the first third of the book It makes sense that he d be protective of his business but he s so prejudiced against Levi because of his past and treats him like crap even after they start having sex And herein lies a bigger problem while Levi initiates their first sexual encounter there s a massive power imbalance which isn t really addressed and I also found it difficult to believe that Levi would risk his job and his future just for the sake of a quick fuck This isn t helped by the fact that it feels as though Levi s attraction to Hayden comes out of nowhere because there s no inkling of that attraction before they have sex Sure Levi thinks Hayden is hot but that s all we get on the page. The bookstore on the corner book Thankfully things start to change when the hurt comfort aspect of the story kicks in allowing Hayden to show a caring side to own up to his mistakes and try to do better by Levi But his change of heart happens so fast one minute he s adamant he s not interested in anything other than sex with Levi the next he s looking after him when he s sick and talking about their being together for real I liked that he s big enough to own up to his mistakes and admit that he wants Levi for than his body and their relationship does take a much positive turn from here on in I just felt that something was missing that their connection wasn t quite there yet And then Levi s past comes calling and it s going to take a real leap of faith on Hayden s part if they re going to make it as a couple. In this corner schomberg I enjoyed the book for the most part I liked the brotherly banter between Hayden and Darien and I liked seeing the development of the connection between Hayden and Levi but I can t deny that they feel somewhat underdeveloped as characters and Hayden s 180 happens very too quickly And the threat posed when Levi s past rears its ugly head is telegraphed a mile off It s a hard one for me to rate because the similarities between it and Garrett Leigh s Redemption which I reviewed earlier this year are very obvious and sadly In His Corner suffers by the comparison. The story corner book I struggled to assign a final grade because while I m sure that this novel will appeal to those looking for a very sexy it s probably the steamiest book I ve ready by this author so far mostly angst free contemporary romance I d have liked depth to the characters and relationship I really enjoy H. In his corner book club questions L Day s work and will certainly be keeping an eye out for whatever she writes next but In His Corner didn t work for me quite as well as I d hoped 270 I ll do a full review on the blog but I wanted to say how delightfully surprised I was at how quickly I became invested in this book and these MCs I don t like shows or books about food or restaurants of chefs or cooking yet I bought this because I rather like the author s writing and I hoped this might be less about food and about the characters It probably was like that and yet the restaurant forms the backdrop of Levi s and Hayden s story and romance Hayden is prickly and self absorbed for a smaller part of the book chef after all but he grew on me and became a decent human I absolutely loved him He had sooo much growth throughout That Levi was learning how to be in the world again after two years in prison was well written and I felt a great deal for him I m so happy for him. In this corner of the world streaming Hayden s age isn t specified but he must be around 30 give or take a few years He s a successful chef who owns his own restaurant He s a bit of a Gordon Ramsay in that he s a real a and his staff respect but fear him He s gay but doesn t have time for relationships he hasn t prioritized them he s put his career first Hayden is reluctant to hire Levi but once he meets he s very attracted to him. Pdf in his corner pdf 5 stars Decent that it s a low angst story that gets to a happy ending and a good place But overall it wasn t a huge fan I didn t like Hayden for a good hunk of the book up until Levi got pneumonia he was a real a He was a jerk to Levi he came off as a big sexual harasser and like he was just using him for sex He didn t express any desire to date him but maybe the author just did a poor job letting us in to see Hayden s thoughts and feelings Hayden was good to Levi after the pneumonia incident and their relationship really got positive after that point But I didn t really believe the love it didn t really feel organic. In this corner dave Various things that bothered me when they had their first hook up it felt like Levi s attraction to Hayden came out of nowhere I don t think the author showed us enough of Levi s attraction to Hayden before that moment I m not a huge fan of unbalanced power dynamics and Hayden definitely held all the power Hayden came off as a jerk and a sexual harasser until the pneumonia thing I know the author said in the notes at the beginning that this wasn t you know an accurate representation of the legal system but I felt like Levi should be paying restitution and in debt for at minimum totaling the Porsche that he was trying to steal I saw it coming from a mile away what was going to go down with David And I didn t really like how Levi handled it He should have been talking to someone. Epub in his corner book Some notable moments He said that you would act like a dick but that deep down you weren t The truth It disappointed me I needed ammunition to help me look past his pleasing physical attributes not him being straight with me He s wrong I said A slight frown About which part The deep down part Levi gave a slow nod Always a dick Noted It was awkward his trousers and pants still tangled around his ankles and the height of my desk not ideal for fucking which made me want to laugh once I realized it and vow to do better in the future Can I help you sir What is it you re looking for Ample drawer space Built in ports Spacious surface area No none of that I just need one where if I have someone bent over it they re at the optimal height for fucking FYI about steam I rate steam based on a combination of quality quantity I note kink separate from steam because I don t want to underrate steamy reads that don t have much kink Note about spoilers I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments As a reader I personally like to know what I m getting into before I read a book so I know about the content and if it s to my taste mood so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I m considering rereading and also for other readers 270 Levi has just gotten out of prison and his parole officer Darien convinces his brother Hayden to hire Levi at his restaurant Levi has no one to help him no family except his grandma and he has built barriers to protect himself because he believes no one will trust and ex con At first I wanted to throttle Hayden He is a dislikeable character judgy and unkind to Levi even when he is attracted to him Levi made me hurt a bit I wanted him to find someone to care for him and to give him a chance They started a sexual relationship which was a bit sudden for me From there they become than just lovers and we see Hayden change from judgy to being there for Levi through thick and thin And I so loved that for my poor bb Levi But his past is just trying to get in the way of his happiness I kind of expected what the issue would be and how he would react It was wholesome how Hayden managed everything and it was exactly what Levi needed. In this corner bar & grill Overall there was some spark missing but the hurt comfort and 180 change in Hayden made the read with it 270 3 stars An ex con with a tough guy attitude a chef with too many prejudices Lust brings them together but will Levi s past tear them apart Or will he finally have someone in his corner I don t know exactly how I feel about this one Some things I enjoyed while others I was a bit meh about Let s start with the positives I mostly liked the middle portion I liked seeing them connect for their relationship to not be just about the sex I really loved when Hayden took care of Levi when he went from being a bit of an ass to sweet and thoughtful and caring The office desk spice was fire and sexy I wanted of that On the flip side after those beginning lust crazed moments the smut does fade unfortunately Once they start deepening their relationship we only get snippets and closed doors Which I know is a bit ironic I ask for emotional connection and for it to not be just sexsexsex but when I get it I want the sex again I don t know what I want either man I also didn t really care for Hayden in the beginning He s really a dick for a bit there and I don t think there was enough any grovel to make up for it It was a nice little distraction very sexy at the start and sweet in the end I enjoyed the writing style and the easy breezy flow of the story but I Brief rimming Office sex 270 I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC This story is an interesting one to review for me because even though Hayden was NOT a likeable character i still really dug him lol i m a fan of the wide world of hot kitchens and short tempers assholes in aprons and no fucks to give jamie oliver is my unicornbut i haven t cooked with him nor have i caught a bts on his flavour of tantrum and i refuse to step to it because some dreams are meant to be protected lol in any case Hayden was super snarly but that worked for me precious bae Levi had me a little less sure though if i m being honest Levi s twenty three and finally free he s done time for his crimes and this story was his turning over a new leaf I think my niggle is that he did very little turning himself and while i most assuredly support the fairy godmother flex of Darien his PO Levi s well intentioned light bearer did all the heavy lifting when it came to his characterization and i was left wanting from him than the narrative actually supported To be fair this did a 180 from a spicy start to a cutesy romance so i totally get it but I think i personally just wanted a bit than sweet fluff from HL Day because i know that she can BRING IT But that s just me So yeah Levi s adorable but also scary Everyone s grabbing their pursesand their hearts Why Because he s gorgeous in a leather jacket but also looks great in waiter blacks He s hard on the outside AND chewy on the inside Anxiety is real for the newly rehabilitated He s aloof but all heart deep down Power dynamics mean nothinguntil they mean everything to him Levi s a granny boy we stan and a lone rangerwith quite a few friends under a week he fucks on the fly but also wants to date Bless he s a reader and a smart guy but he s made some poor life choices in the past and ngl some of his present didn t look that sharp for the amount of gassing up his PO did But he s 23 and i get it Levi was a wonderful bundle ofeverythingin one smokin hawt ripped as fk bad boy but not quite package what it comes down to is that ultimately Levi s really just in this to be fawned over By everyone and while that s cute and everything and ignoring the handful of instances of proactivity he s basically in this receiving energy from start to end he gave borderline pillow princess cinderfella vibes and while there s nothing intrinsically wrong with that i just could not help wanting a story with an emotional layer of soft ex con going through it yk regardless this was still a sweet and simple offering from one of my favourite authors and i am definitely looking forward to everything still to come from HL Day because at the very least she s great for a story AND she makes me think about character like no one else and that s pretty awesome in my book 270 This was a great book I was hesitant because this is not a slow burn and I wasn t sure if I d like it once the steam started but I am very happy to say that it worked out beautifully and I should know by now to trust Day because I ve loved so many of her books The romance that starts between Levi and Hayden shouldn t work if you were on the outside looking in you would never pair these two together Hayden is a workaholic who only gives all his time and attention to his restaurant He seems to be very rigid and hard to get to know He runs his restaurant with an almost iron fist Levi is an ex con who has a hard exterior and is angry at himself for getting caught up in stealing cars and spending time in jail He s extremely smart but tries to cover that up He wants to keep his head down and be a better caretaker for his grandmother. Book in his corner pdf I think my favorite character was Darien who is Levi s parole officer but also Hayden s brother He was so upbeat and caring but also tough and intuitive I would love a book for him Hint Hint What starts off as only sex between Levi and Hayden changes quickly These men are a lot alike than they d ever first admit Hayden was so patient and caring I don t think many people would be this way there Levi is Six feet of attitude Six feet of pure temptation No one warned Levi that getting out of prison would only be the start of his problems He doesn t need a boss who looks down his nose at him Except behind that there s a heat A heat that Levi can t help responding to Together they burn hot forging something that could be than just lust When Levi s past comes knocking though has he really got someone in his corner or is he just as alone as ever In His Corner is a steamy hurt comfort MM romance featuring a hot tempered chef who needs his life shaking up a bit and a wounded character who might have a chip on his shoulder a mile wide but deep down just wants someone to love him When their fragile connection is put to the test will their relationship endure or will everything they ve built crumble away to nothing In His Corner Reset 1 H.
